It's so disappointing that basic research is missing from this report. Kerala is 10 x times larger at around 40,000 sq km whereas this is touted as 4,000 sq km. Poor research detracts from the main news headline. Sheesh!

How can they say this iceberg has been caused by human climate warning? There is no known way to valididate that fact only hypothesize. Two things, climate scientists who study glacial melt could absolutely tell you with certainty if it was related to climate change and in what way, and they already know that human caused climate change is a real thing. It’s just that the whole system is so complex and people on the internet have a tendency to cherry pick tiny things that fit their own narrative. For example, icebergs calve as a natural process, I saw an interview with one expert who doesn’t believe that this one calved as a result of climate change because it did so in 1986 and this is fine, on its own it gives weight to the no climate change argument. But it doesn’t mean that climate change was not responsible for such a large piece to make it away from Antarctica. There are loads of satellite images showing how much of the ice pack has been lost over the years, had humans not been around, that iceberg could have been frozen and refrozen, only calving smaller chunks over the years rather than the entire piece breaking away. Now that it is gone, it is no longer blocking everything behind it from moving towards the sea.
@1001Wildthings6 күн бұрын
The cause is irrelevant. The facts remain: there are more icebergs calving off than we've ever seen; more storms, and they are more intense than ever; more flooding from ice melt; droughts that last longer; year-on-year record global temperatures...

Human caused climate change: Usually I would agree. But the timeline fits exactly with Saturn's transit through Capricorn (2020) to now Pisces. And the 30 years=Saturn's gochara around 12 signs. Basically, it looks like the Kumbh sadesati time-period is the moment when the water jar is about to pour a tremendous amount of water on the oceans. And, I assume, on the coastal areas. And with that, also all the continents. Kumbh mela is happening during a conjunction that only occurs every 144 years. The "water jar" is activated in a stellar manner! March 29-May 18th: that's when all hell and highwater breaks loose. New York, London, Mumbai, Tokyo et al underwater. Or close to it, I think.

Islands only move in relation to geothermal activity seen at the edges of tectonic plates or through volcanic activity. Anything else you might hear or read will be false. Human causation is very much a factor in many Earth changing events, given our numbers but Net Zero would have to mean the total wipeout of all life, including vegetation as all life forms are carbon based. There is no other form of life regardless of what you might like to think regarding AI. There is just carbon based life, period. Carbon Dioxide is so so essential that without it every form of life we've come to know would cease to exist in a Net Zero, endgame. Plant death occurs at 150ppm of CO2. Everything on Earth is dependent on plant survival so if Net Zero led to a colossal reduction in the availability of CO2, total extinction would be the only possible outcome. Science has been taken over by politicians and the facts have been rewritten to suit the storyline but the world is taking another turn and it's human activity that is deemed responsible for all societies ills, even though all nature's forces have been around forever and a day. It doesn't matter if it's tsunamis, volcanoes, icebergs, creeping ice shelves, hurricanes, tornados, water spouts, wild fires, often the result of human recklessness, these forces have been battering the Earth since it's creation and subsequent evolution. Earth is a life support system for all life. My advice is to respect all life, not just your own. Time to grow up and smell the coffee.
