Texans not only played a last place schedule and the bad AFC South, they also played the horrible NFC South. Lets see what they do against a 1st place schedule before anointing them "elite".

can we really call the AFC South bad when 3 teams went above .500?

I think Texans are getting a bit too much hype but they're most likely going to win the division regardless. Colts, Titans, Jaguars. Does anyone even consider those teams even playoff contenders this year? Trevor is average at best, Colts might not even have their qb and Titans are rebuilding. If everything goes right, that's at least 4 or 5 wins within the division. It'd be a disappointment if the Texans didn't at least get to the playoffs based off of last year.

They’ll have a tougher schedule this year and last time they played, they were outclassed and were destroyed by Baltimore. They’re a young team we expect to get better, but we’ll see.

To be fair the Ravens made a lot of teams look bad last year. If they had a QB they beat KC last year. Yes he won the MVP. And was probably the most valuable he's not the best QB is the NFL by a long shot. They made KC look quite average on offense. Don't judge a team one 1 game against a very good defense that made everyone run crying when they played them.

They're getting WAY too much hype. Let's see how next year goes before we crown them. If they do as well or better next year then yes, they're elite. But there is a whole history of QBs who flashed their rookie year and were never as good again. Nobody is treating the texans like a soft game on the schedule next year, so they're gonna get people's best shot.

Any good black qb in the nfl gets way too much hype now. We were all told last year that Fields would be the premier qb in the nfc. Look how that turned out. Second year for stroud might be a b.

“Elite?” Let’s pump the breaks. Could they be really really good? Absolutely. But let’s remember they played a last place schedule last year and CJ won’t be surprising anyone… And guys like Brou drive me slightly crazy. KC and Baltimore are on one tier and Houston is the tier below them? Then you have a tier with two elite teams and everyone else is “very good.” Stop arbitrarily using words that have meanings…

CJ could sophomore slump a little, they added washed up players on offense and defense isn’t something that can be counted on. Tough schedule. Will JAX collapse again? They likely have the same ceiling as last year.
