He also balled out against the chiefs defense in the Super Bowl which is one of the best. This why I’m not worried about Hurts ballin against next year. I seen him do it!!!

And tie his team to 5 more years of not winning in the playoffs. 9 years is a pretty good sample size. Dak is who he is. A Stat stuffer against bad team and a anchor dragging you to your death in big game or the playoffs. He'll throw for 4500 yards. 35ish TDs and 10ish picks. It looks great until you see when he gets them and when he doesn't. 30 TD in 9 games against trash. And 5 TDs and 10 INTs against the good teams.

@@tite732 They are not the only ones. All sports commentating panels allocate a considerable portion of their coverage to Cowboys. But the question is begged - does it create undue Cowboys buzz...or is it that Cowboys buzz already in play compels they must allocate so much to Cowboys' coverage? Face it - like it or not...the American sports franchise, without equal, most fans, rabid or casual, follow...is the Dallas Cowboys. It would border on malpractice if a sports show that must consider ratings and ad revenues in determining stories to cover...would defy that reality.

14:50 I feel as a Cowboys fan, I’d extend Dak’s contract and ride it out with him and the players. The Coach and GM is not the exception, because the Cowboys have so much talent and players primes and contract issues will become an issue 2024-2025 and 2026-2027 (2027 draft pick). Cowboys need to win right now, if coach Mike can’t do it than it’s a coaching change, Dak did good last year, Dak would have been better than great but amazing 14:50 this year if he had a Zeke. Derrick Henry would have been a nightmare. Next year we need to run the ball more to give the defense more rest and we need to either keep Pollard as a 16-20 rush back with 4-5 catches (he’s amazing when he does this) and then we need to get a Derrick Henry type cus that will do it. Now on defense spend all the money on Chris Jones!!!! We have a 3-4 year window with prime and talent players, only if Dak extend his contract since it’s more about coaching imo.

That's why Nick has done a complete 180 on Dallas_ He now knows they're not a serious contender to compete for a Super Bowl the way he thought they were_ They're only good enough to play in the regular season..... That's it!!🤷💯💯💯

It's like Nick has COMPLETELY forgotten that he picked the Cowboys to reach the Superbowl. So all this 'Hey, if they're going to reach a SB they tend to do it early.' Argument flies in the position he took for 80% of the year.

Dallas should let Dak walk or franchise tag, he will never be the reason they win he's an above average game manager. They should sign LB Josh Allen and get a solid RB... but don't listen to me Jerry, go Birds 😂

Interesting final discussion there about how you’ll probably know early whether your QB can take you to the Super Bowl. I think the financial aspect Nick mentioned is the real reason (young QB is cheap so you can afford to build a great roster around him). I don’t think the other half of his reasoning, about how ‘they don’t improve that much,’ is so valid. Because in a slightly earlier era, with a fairly similar game but different financial reward structure, you had tons of late-bloomer Super Bowl QBs (where to even begin? Plunkett, Ken Anderson, Theisman, Doug Williams, Craig Morton - I think most of these guys were over thirty and several not on their original teams. Heck, Drew Brees might’ve been 30). So I think it’s gotta be mostly the money factor.

Did Nick forget that Amari Cooper existed? Zeke? What about Smith and Martin and Lawrence? Dallas has had top of the market guys at key positions throughout Daks tenure, I’m not sure why he thinks anything will change when Lamb and Parsons get paid. For all their issues Dallas has drafted as well as anyone in the league

Why isn't Purdy a system QB? Shannahan took Matt Ryan, Jimmy Garrapolo and Brock Purdy to the Super Bowl. It's the coaching not the QB.

Cold take. Why were Lamar and Dak in the MVP convo at all? They weren't the best performers and missed the superbowl when it mattered. Dak never really took the cowboys anywhere but to the couch. Lamar has never been a QB, but a runningback in disguise, which was blasted on international television with the chiefs when they caged him in the pocket and forced him to throw. I can go on if you'd like, I've got a lot of stats I can start bringing up for you.

@RexJacobus-bb1vw I was illustrating how to bring up a valid criticism of a player. So here's how I can tell you don't know what you're just repeating what a talking head said without putting any thought into it objectively. If you want a system quarterback, you can't find someone to scramble when that system fails and still find a target or a lane for a first down/td. If you want a system qb, they can't have the best performance under pressure stats of the entire season and the playoffs, especially with a bottom 10 o-line. If you want a system quarterback, they can't have the majority of the best stats for a qb in that season. If you want a system qb, they can't be able to win in more than one way. If you want a system qb, they can't come back from a 17 point deficit. Yet Purdy has accomplished all of these and more. The reality is every quarterback is part of a system. Mid qbs get carried by the system, good qbs can carry that system. Great qbs elevate that system. Currently Purdy has proven he's a good quarterback, and if he repeats this kind of performance next season, which is likely, he'll start proving he's a great quarterback. He doesn't have nearly the tenure of the other qbs, and yet he's competing with and beating them. The narrative he's carried by his team is the weakest one out there. It doesn't matter if someone has every weapon in the game, if they can't get the ball down field to them, the weapons don't matter. If a quarterback chokes under pressure, the weapons don't matter.

I don’t see how they are not talking about dak staring down the receivers before he throws it to them. not giving the team chances on 3rd and long. The playbook being for the 90’s and dak literally allergic to throwing the ball in the middle of the field( multiple missed TDs this year from him not reading the field when the ball was snapped)

Besides the run game that we all know the Cowboys need, they didn't have a great tight end showing this year. There was spurts of nice tight end play, but not like Dalton Shultz type of play. And the coaching needs an overhaul. They need to fix their issues. They don't prepare well for certain games. If it's goes south in the beginning, they cannot adjust and make the plays to stay on the field.

Nick, I'm proud of you. I put you on the BUD list for having too much faith in Dak, and you're basically saying what I've been saying since the Dak contract business started 5 or 6 years ago. This guy can only win the Super Bowl if he makes less than 30 million a year. I completely agree that running it back isn't going to get the 'Boys anywhere. They need to trade Dak, or get him to sign for 3 years 75 million instead of 3 years 175 million. Also, Brou, "he put them on his back, and they beat tomato cans" 🤣
