Long before he hit his mega fame, I worked with him on an indie flick. During the shoot I found out my best friend since birth, my grandfather, had been diagnosed with dementia and cancer. I didn’t tell anyone, and hid in a parking lot to have a moment to be emotional away from everyone, cause I didn’t want to be unprofessional. Apparently Donald saw me, then spent an hour at an arcade claw machine in the bowling alley we were filming in… he won a stuffed fish, handed it to me, and said “you looked like you needed cheering up”. He's such a great storytelller and character-maker - all this chat with the coyote is so natural and so characterful. I can't wait for more directorial work from him.

Also I love how comfortable the two of you are in this interview. Just felt like watching friends catching up. I genuinely laughed multiple times.

Atlanta is one of the greatest shows of all time, it was funny, emotional, thoughtful, scary and it was perfect at all of them. A show that I couldn't binge even wanting to, because sometimes I needed to digest what I just watched. God I wish I could watch it for the first time again, however rewatching is still special.

Donald Glover feels like someone I could hang out with regularly, more than most other guests. What a great guest. But I can't forget the team behind the show, or the host for being the best interview show basically since its inception. What a fantastic ending, Donald is a lovely man.

Mad respect for Donald. Smart, witty, funny, interesting, complex, and impervious to heat/pain. Because of this one video, I will give this man's music a serious listen. RESPECT!

I was first a Donald Glover fan from Community, then became a Childish Gambino fan and now I'm just a fan of his personality!!! WOW!!! Great interview! Great comedian!!! Love him!!!

Childish! He's conversation is such an awesome mixture of humility, and passionate interest in artistry. One of the coolest conversations on Hot Ones I've heard in a while

I saw Childish Gambino live at ACL. It was honestly one of the best performances I've ever seen live. I can't afford to go to a show on his tour, but if anyone has the opportunity they really should.

"This whole thing has been a spiritual journey." 17:00 is a wild conversation. They are in the flow state, the Way, as if they did any other ritual, and are both mature and patient enough to go through it... and point out the performative nature of the program. Thank GOD for no visual advertising. That black room is, as DG said, "iconic".

Im so excited for the live show in Hamburg germany. Your Music was probably the only one where i saw myself in as a half black german guy growing up in a village. Standing between 2 Cultures not fully belonging to any side, but still as ablack man without all the stereotypical behaviour, but with a deep desire to be accepted by both cultures as the man that I am. Thank you Donald!
