This is magical. Got a foil of this art in a set booster and was curious for a closer look. Amazing to see the process that went into her!

These videos are such an interesting insight into your craft. As someone who loves art but not an artist myself, this really helps me learn more about the process! So excited to get my hands on this card and for all your future projects on MTG! You’re killing it my dude! ❤️❤️

Thank you for these videos. I am learning with son on how to do artwork. Provides us with father / son time. Do you have a video on your palette? Which paints / ink? How do you mix your paints with water and best way to prevent it from drying out? Thanks

Hey Scott, I'm amazed by your process as always! I would love to see a more in depth "tutorial" about how you managed to print the digital work and put it on board at 1:00 (what paper was it printed on, what did you use to prepare it , does it work for acrylic only). Also, at 5:40, how you drew with charcoal over the previous layers and managed to paint over it without making it a dirty mess. Hope I'm not being obnoxious, and thanks for these inspiring videos :)

Hey there. I printed it on Epson Ultra smooth fine art paper. I then spray that with a water bottle till it is soaked. I follow that with gel medium on the back of the paper and on the surface of the panel. them I mount is and smooth out any air bubbles with a wide soft brush and more gel on the front side. I let that dry and then I trim excess paper and put a few more layers of gel medium over it. I am using the Golden Heavy Gel semi gloss. Generally the charcoal pencil is not put on there too heavy and it will just blend in a little with the paint. I will also use water-color pencils or prisma to do this stage. (So I may have gotten that wrong in the vid. We'd have to zoom in on the vide to see what pencil!) 😆

Popular question! Will try to document that but it is pretty simple. I printed it on Epson Ultra smooth fine art paper using a Epson p7000 printer. I then spray that with a water bottle till it is soaked. That stretches the paper. I follow that with gel medium on the back of the paper and on the surface of the panel. Next while everything is wet, I mount it and smooth out any air bubbles with a wide soft brush and more gel on the front side. I let that air dry and then I trim any excess paper (I print it a little wider than I need.) Finally, I put a few more layers of gel medium over it. I am using the Golden Heavy Gel semi gloss.

I think this is my favourite piece of art from this set, yeah the guy with the dragon avatar likes the dragon art shocker I know. But seriously your ability to get the different values and lighting is amazing to me. :0

Yeah the Art Deco style is really sweet and a refresh after the cyber punk stuff of Kamigawa.
