That lead guitarist looks like an anime character. I mean that in the best way, epic hair! That guitar play is on a whole other level! Dare I say God tier. 😂 Sick video Fisch! Thank you for bringing us something we all needed to hear.

The second section is more or less "Bossa Nova". Talk about a turnaround, from Spanish vibe to Jazz.

So sick you reacted to Polyphia man! I’ve been listening to these guys for years. The outro riff is some of the wildest classical chops I’ve heard. Tim absolutely kills it. I’m pretty sure Culture Shock by Polyphia is my most listened to song on Apple Music haha. Great video Fisch!

7:05 definitely one of the best moments I have ever seen in any reactions :D Followed up by very good comment. Polyphia throws into their compositions numerous diamonds which by many popular musicians would be stretched to a whole song based mainly on that one diamond.

Starts as kick-ass Flamenco, goes into a Bossa Nova for the second half. People call them "metal," but I think their sound is way more Prog-rock. With Clay Aeschliman's Trap-style drumming and Clay Gobot's soul-shaking coordinated bass, I think of them as Trap-Prog; it seems like they've created their own genre!

Yup... If you remember John McLaughlin, Al di Meola and Paco De Lucia, who were extraordinarily prolific beyond measure as induvidual guitarists - forcing every true guitarist of that generation, to, in time, come across their album, the "Guitar Treo", and listen to that as a standard - There is indeed a good spirit that floats around this world and possesses people in order that God himself may be heard. Polyphia is that, seeking to be heard this generation. As the many, indeed, truly are only the One... And listening to this is a F*#£ing Commandment... The title of this track says it all.

They're very impressive musicians, but I've never found their music to be very interesting. I've been playing guitar since 2004 (and other instruments since) and definitely couldn't play what they play, but I like plenty of music that I can't play, so it doesn't come from a place of jealousy. I just don't find their arrangements fulfilling. I don't know what story they're trying to tell.
@SJNaka101

I think polyphia is secretly just rap for guitar nerds. Party music for band kids. 40oz, Goose, GOAT... Just reading the song titles, you could be forgiven for thinking they belong to a rap artist. I love em, but yeah they dont really evoke much emotion in me aside from hype and awe at their skill. I'd get why you might not like them, since you said something about not knowing "what story they are trying to tell". I think there's simply not much story there. Kinda similarly to how drake is just forever talking about how he used to not be famous but now he is, polyphia is just saying yeah check out how fucking good we are at everything (which is totally fair because of how fucking good they are at everything).
@Just-Michael
@Just-Michael 2 жыл бұрын
@@SJNaka101 It's made worse by the fact that they don't have a vocalist. I'm not big on instrumental music, so instrumental music that's completely noodly and doesn't really go anywhere emotionally, it's pretty bland. Like they never hit a big beautiful chorus or anything with massive chords and a pretty singing melody, it's just riffs from start to finish.
@Just-Michael
@Just-Michael 2 жыл бұрын
@Christian Benitez Sort of, like what's all the hype about? Where's the substance? Where's the "aaahhh 😌" moment that all these riffs are hopefully building up to? I don't get it, man! Maybe it's for the vibe crowd who just like lo fi and all that. My friend sent me this EP where the songs were like 6 minutes long and never changed. It was just background music basically, and that ain't me. I like my music to reach out and punch me in the nose and grab my attention. What's the deal? 🤔

Couldn’t disagree with you more. This puts their old music in the bin for me. Honestly was going to decide whether or not I would continue to hold hope for them as a band based on this song. First two albums unlistenable for me, TMH and NLND caught my interest but found most of it to be far too meandering, although I was extremely interested in what they were TRYING to accomplish sonically, I just didn’t think they were nailing it. This to me nails the exact thing they were TRYING to nail with NLND. If the new album is on par with this single it’ll be the first album of there’s I think well of.
