I would of lifted the fish and poured the gravy on the chips and potato cake and put the fish back down so the fish wasn't swimming in gravy.

I understand the chips and potato cake part, our school canteen going way back had chippy dogs which were chips or potato cakes in a hot dog roll with gravy and cheese. That gets an it's lit I'm loving it. Keen to see a curry sauce version @2aussie. Never tried that before

@minatran3652 I am sorry you didn't get to experience it. So good on our winter days and only $3.50 I am in VIC not NSW like 2Aussie and maybe yourself. Can only get salad and fruit at canteens now but chippy dog would probably be $8 these days

A pub chain called Toby carvery in the uk 🇬🇧 do tomato sauce in there gravy at breakfast time ,they even have Yorkshire puddings with there breakfast. I reviewed it on my channel check it out I didn't try the ketchup gravy though thought it was weird on a full English breakfast

2 Aussie, next time you're in Brisbane, head to the suburb of Birkdale and go to Chumley Warner's. The best traditional British fish & chips. They have it all and more, mushy peas, gravy and curry sauce. Try a piece of Haddock, chips, pork sausage, splash on the Sarson's malt vinegar and a tub of curry sauce....Bloody Beautiful. We can't get decent fish & chips here in Surfers Paradise, bloody unbelievable, and your out the way out at Lithgow, unbelievable, and as cheap as chips. Personally how can you have chicken salt with fish, and then gravy, bloody hell, yes BBQ chicken with gravy. Should have just coated part of the fish instead of spoiling the works. Shove nearly the whole thing in your mouth, why not.

Gravy with anything deep fried is a-ok. Best with meats that had legs not fins but still good… Dim sims, chiko roll, even rice, meat pies, 2 min noodles with gravy, rice and a meat pie mashed in - Yum

Love your vlogs. From a chippy eater in the UK, you nailed it, mate. I can't believe some of the comments 😅. Fish, chips, mushy peas and gravy...it's a staple over here. Curry sauce is just as good. You could also add lots of vinegar too when you poured the gravy on. Chip butty, dipped in gravy...oh...I can't wait to visit in 6 weeks.

Your as bad as my wife, I can't wrap my head around her having Chicken salt on fish.an fried or steamed Dim sims I have plain salt on fish. Sometimes Chicken salt on chips 😋 But you just took it to another level ( Gravy) on fish 🤢. But each to their own an 2 Aussie I will probably give this a try just to say I did , but on a fish from the frozen fish in my freezer, not wasting $9.50 on a piece of Flake from a Fish shop to spoil it with gravy .
