Just recently did all 30 miles of this from Octillo north to 78 and it was amazing. Followed your routes and had no issues.

I always enjoy your channel. This video is also really helpful. I would like to ask if it is possible to go through split mountain and get to Fish creek with a van. Our van is Sprinter (21 feet), and high clearance. Are there any narrow areas that could be difficult to get in and out through split mountain? I am looking forward to watching more videos. Thank you very much.

Glad you are enjoying and reaping the travel knowledge from our videos. I'm very familiar with Sprinter vans as I occasionally tour guide for a company using those vans, sometimes on dirt roads. I last traveled Split Mtn in 2018, so I'm not sure of the current conditions, but every time I've time I've driven it thru Split Mtn and beyond, the roads are in good condition and you can easily drive a Sprinter. Just use your best judgement. That's a fun place to explore.

Is it me or can you be the Huell Howser of 4x4 Trail Exploring? Your tone and diction is so similar. 👍🏽👊🏽 Subscribing now.

LOL - too funny, someone in person told me yesterday I sound like Huell. Yes, I was a big fan. You just can't help spreading his enthusiasm.

Haha, I used to ride my 3 wheeler through those areas 30 years ago. Have to mountain bike now, but it isn't nearly as much fun.
@BackRoadsWest13 жыл бұрын
Well, you do have more time to see the scenery with a mtn bike.

@@BackRoadsWest1 I was just out to the mud caves yesterday. What a great time. I am glad UTVs and such can no longer go through the park. Imagine the mess they would cause?
@BackRoadsWest13 жыл бұрын
@@dougsmuaythai I didn't realize they once did allow UTVs thru there. At least they all have place close by - Ocotillo Wells. Yea, the Mud Caves are unique and nice.

Thanks for the video. Great stuff. Is there a time/season to go? Or when to avoid?

You're welcome and thank you. Anytime is a good time, except a very hot day (summer) or if there is thunderstorm activity which would turn Fish Creek into a raging river.
