As usual, you come up with some very valuable info to further the fish hobby along! Since using your advice in mixing high quality foods, my cichlids and community tropicals have all been flourishing and have become that much more of a valuable investment. Adding "Sera" food products to the mix now continues this 'saga' further on down that road. I have been a fish hobbyist for many years, but only recently has my knowledge base grown substancially, thanks to people like you in the hobby sharing their experience. Thanks, again, Ben!

We need a Consumer Report type organization checking, testing and comparing aquarium products- especially foods. To me all the foods "blurr together" when you hear the marketing pitches. It has taken me many years to finally settle on what works for me, and a lot of discarded food.

Consumer reports from my understanding is just a private company that for years has been paid off for biased reviews. I don't believe it would ever happen. Even vitamins which is a huge market isn't even regulated by the FDA and this is something being digested by humans. They don't need to prove any claims they state. Even the chemicals we use in our tanks aren't regulated in any way. The manufacturers can state what ever they want without having to prove it.

Hi Ben excellent video very informative I'm from Australia and been using Sera food for many years I know from my experience that it's up with the top three especially the Granugreen very good for the haps I feed a small amount with the other foods every second day the fish are very healthy again top video 😊👍👍

I have Mbuna. I feed 50% New Life Spectrum Cichlid and 50% Sera Granugreen. I also give them Sera Spirulina Tabs once in a while. So there! 😂

Ive been buying serra food products for about two years and it really is great. I will continue using it. I appreciate this video because i knew the fish liked it and i read the ingredients on there labels which i also liked. but this video really helped reinforce why i should keep using there foods. Also I'm very interested in the other products they sell besides food. Because they seem very honest to me. Thanks alot ben really enjoyed it.

Absolutely love this content. The only issue I have is now I want to try it. I am always second guessing what I feed. I have good results with what I feed, Xtreme, Northfin Spirulina, Northfin Krill pellets.

I have been using Sera for 30 years (not sponsored) I grow my Discus on it with amazing results and don't have to use beef heart (nasty/not healthy) or frozen blood worms which causes bloat in Discus. Great content. I used to buy their tabs that stuck to the glass as they were FANTASTIC! 🥳 Then a couple of years ago they charged the formula and it really made a difference in a bad way. 🤯 Texture of the new formula was way off and the fish new it!🙄😬 The new ones came in blister packs for reference.😇 After noticing this I did a little bit of research back then thinking I got a counterfeit some how and others complained about the same thing.🤔🤫🙄 And I'm not kidding the fishes would go crazy for that stuff. A community tank now they just basicly look at it.🤔😳

When they changed their Vipan fish food to insect based, my fish no longer eat it now. I swore by their red and green Vipan granules before they changed it. How sad.

Ben's obviously found a decent food product, but in theory perhaps you could feed the fish a variety of different foods to ensure a full range of nutrients are available?

I think most of us do. I know I vary mine but I check the ingredients of each food I use.

I would liked to have asked if they had changed the recipe to their Sera Nips. The tablet you stick to the inside of the aquarium the fish gather and eat like crazy or they used to. Now they are slower go eat it and I'm wondering why this is? I'm wondering if they improved the food in the tablet so it is healthier?

They use more sustainable ingredients, now. The first batches of the new O-Nips did not stick that great and broke down a bit faster than the old ones. But, this was improved and now, it seems like they are even better than the ones before.

I used the tabs a couple times I think after a month or so it wouldn't stick on glass my fish didn't like it at all so I dunno whats all the hype but I think my fish don't like it they don't tlk but u can tell by the way they look at me its nasty taste for them my fish loves northfin and rons food never again will I buy this product

Don’t feed too much sera pellets unless you want your fish dying of septicemia. I have stopped feeding my malawi cichlid after 5 years of feeding because they were becoming too ill. Since changing brands my fish are more healthy

I always feed a mix of 3 or 4 brands. Are you sure it was the food? After that many years of feeding?
