Fish has never been over shadowed by any other lyricist in Rock History. Fish is a master poet and lyricist. I cannot name one other singer in rock music who's lyrics are even half as interesting.

I was lucky enough to see Fish in his first show in the US in SF in 2008. It kicked ass!!! It actually got transferred to a smaller venue because of a fire at the Fillmore. It was truly a classic night!!!

Fish is still the King... And luckily we have Hogarth who came along to save the band from the edge of obscurity. This band is indeed one of the greats - with Fish AND with Hogarth. Thanks to both!

Best singer and song writer ever! His deep and touching lyrics always make me full of motivation to think over lots of bad turns which I have took over during my lifetime. The only thing left for me to do, late night, all alone is to again lost in his complicated lyrics plots tanglet to the alcohol and love problems, by a candle and another glass of whiskey.... Best wishes to all Fish fans!

Fish indeed the king of rock and roll frontmen. True genius in his stage presence. Been at it a long time, and he has perfected the art.

Me too. I can't make a choice. Both have so much going for them. Fish was fantastic, but H has also brought so much to Marillion. And if Fish had stayed, they would not have made such amazing albums as indeed Brave, Seasons End, and Marbles (which to me is good old school Marillion all over again, but then with the talent and versatility of H...), we got TWO different Marillions, and us fans are very lucky to have that...

Stunning show Pete. Best concert I've seen this year by a long shot. At the end of the show we handed Frank Usher (the lead guitarist) a copy of " Cooper Hill live at Barrymore's" so I'm sure that he and Fish are now big fans of the band!!!! Slainte Mhath!!!

Agree 100% that Fish is a master lyricist. I just want to make mention of another great one, Neal Peart of Rush. Not for comparison. But only to say that they both are masters of their craft! Of course Neal does not sing his lyrics... but only writes them. But he's one hell of a drummer!

Who are you to say something like that? Are you a music critic or is just because your girlfriend loves H? Marillion has gone down since the day Fish annouced his retirement from the band.

I love Fish ... But, he's only about 55 ... WHAT did this guy do to his voice? ? Could he get back any notes, if he worked with a professional voice coach?

What the hell are you on about? Better still, what the hell are you on? I'd think Fish has more talent in what little hair he has left than you might in your entire body.

Men you ARE SO WRONG!!!! Marillion is good now but NEVER like before, the quality of the songs now are very low compared to a White Rusian or Sugar Mice or the great Forgotten sons! YOU are SOOO WRONG! Take a pill and listen to Misplaced Childhood and write again.

I listened to maybe 20 of their songs - not one was remarkable, nor can I recall any melody...boring, elevator music.
