I think i remember hearing Steve saying he was going to cut back on booze of one of his podcasts back in the spring
@Diabetic112
@Diabetic112 4 жыл бұрын
You have to think of it from a business point of view, alcohol is okay for the average joe to post on youtube, but as a business you wouldn't want to show that and give the wrong impression, even if 99.9% of the viewers would be okay with it.
@rdo6566

Not everyone drinks on the ice. I am one of those people. I will gladly have a few off the ice back home or camp but honestly Alcohol slows your reaction, thins your blood making it more difficult to stay warm and promotes poor judgement. So if you do happen to go through being drunk will not aid you in saving your self or one of your buddies.

I love it when Tracy Crane is featured on Meat Eater! She gives voice to my thoughts and feelings on hunting/fishing: I respect the sport and even want to try but I empathize a lot with the animal. If it weren't for my husband's "adult on-set hunting" obsession (where you get into hunting as an adult) I would never have any sort of desire to hunt. So, watching her gives me confidence to get out there and embrace the wild. Thanks Tracy!

Personally I feel better about hunting and fishing for the food I eat than buying it in a grocery store. Killing and catching your own food is better than it being raised in a pen or a building in my eyes. Go out and hunt a deer or a rabbit.... catch a fish and eat it and find out for yourself how it feels to harvest your own food.

@gregmajewski3406
@gregmajewski3406 3 жыл бұрын
@@edcko10 I didn't find it whiny at all. Steve was definitely not being patient lol which is fine but some people (my gf for instance) will not be able to learn like that. For example, he was telling her loudly (not gonna call it yelling) to set the hook then got frustrated with her several times before actually explaining what he meant by "setting the hook".

Something I like about Steve is that he doesn't pretend it's all cut and dried, perfect and there's no suffering, nor does he ignore the fact or even revel in that he's taking life. He's very matter of fact about killing and the different perspectives on that subject, as well as the reality that nature is far crueler than most people are comfortable with.

I'm very serious, I've been watching meateater since I was a kid on the outdoor channel from seeing him cook javelina in its own stomach, to cooking deer heart, and showing me how to eat bear fat ever since I fell in love with Steve and what he does. Then as I got older and through time I lost touch with him as people do then I see him on joe rogan and heard all the stuff he's been up to and more about his life which made me fall back in love, and now with these new series I fell like I keep finding my way back to steve and this great content which makes me very happy to see how far he's come and how he's never stopped his pursuit of what he wants to accomplish in life!

Steve's so right. The best part about ice fishing is you dont need to worry about the wind blowing you off your spot. Its like the whole lake is your boat. Just drill some holes, find the fish and drop straight down to them. Oh and not sweating my a$$ off in 90 degree heat is pretty great too.
