They have been using Cod Liver Oil in Norway for the last 150 years and with good results, especially in children with respiratory infections. I used to have squishy joints when working out and after trying fish oil it’s gone and anyway cod liver has D vitamins and we know that good for you during the dark winter. So for me a no brainer 🧠

You are overdosing on vitamin A though it is bad for your liver. Look up how much vitamin A you end up taking with the amount you of oil you consume.

Molles Tran it’s a good quality cod liver oil with vitamin D3, it’s a little expensive but really worth the higher price 🏷 . Most common fish oil’s don’t have vitamin d3. I give my dog a little and he is loving it. So sometimes it’s good to pay attention to animals if they are uummhh I like this stuff, then maybe it’s healthy after all and do have some health benefits.

I don't disagree with you - Especially with your own experience, as you know your own body and that is King. But everyone is different, as I experience no difference in well being from taking fish/krill oil. But that may be because I don't shy away from animal fats. @@Thleta Do you eat sardines daily? I think the one thing I wish I knew was what brand is the best quality, I feel like I end up purchasing sardines that aren't the best due to their environment, and I'd like to get higher quality ones, unsure though. @Thleta
@Thleta 2 жыл бұрын
@@jordanolson11 I eat them almost daily, maybe every other day. As far as I know based on what I've heard from Thomas and other authorities on nutrition is that as long as they are wild caught they should be of the highest quality sardine you can acquire. From a quick search it appears wild planet sardines are wild caught off the coast of California then packaged and canned in Vietnam, which should be just fine. Right now I'm eating a brand called Season that catches them wild near morrocco. The important parts = Wild caught, and in water not olive oil.

@@Thleta yeah I like mine in lightly salted water, thanks for the info! I just heard people concerned about the packing plants, while they could be wild caught, putting them in a plant to package outside of your nation or country could be a concern, I have speculation as to why (lower standards for packing, possibly more loopholes to distribution lower quality food etc.) but they are unconfirmed. Good to know! Thank you.
@Thleta
@Thleta 2 жыл бұрын
@@jordanolson11 yea I totally understand that concern of how they are processed after they're caught. The taste of cod liver, it was quite disgusting and made me dislike everything i ate, even drinks and sweet things. Bro I'm so done trying with fish oil. I'm just gonna bite the money bullet and buy more salmon. Its so hard to afford right now but whatever. Salmon and oysters here we go. Triggered a migraine for me and full body itching, hot flash, hard to breath, existing CVI got worse in my legs. I am just now calming down. Loads of anxiety, panic, ugh. I hate fish oil now and will not try any supplemental omega 3s again.

I use Jigsaw Health brand cod liver oil. It's a bit pricey but super high quality. They flash freeze their cod upon catching it in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. They process it at a low temperature to reduce oxidation as well. I've also heard good things about Twin Labs brand but the company may be under new management in the past few years so who knows.

You should be consuming omega 3, preferably in it's natural forms (sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, herring). If you're consuming it as a supplement, don't megadose all the time.

Best to take omega 3's in moderation and as mentioned, from whole food sources (salmon, sardines and mackerel as they"re low in toxic heavy metals). Also recently there are studies that show a link between omega 3 and detrimental activity on the heart's electrical system...recommendation is to never take more than 1000mg and to be VERY cautious if anyone already has heart rhythm issues. I'm surprised this important point has not been covered here.

Total nonsense. I've been taking a teaspoon (5 grams or 5000mg) of omega-3 fish oil on a daily basis for several years and have never experienced any heart palpitations or arrythmia. A balanced intake of electrolyte minerals sodium, potassium and magnesium are much more important for normal and proper heart function or activity.

If you have ITP (low platelets) you are better off not taking fish oil supplements. Just eat more fatty fish.
