The greatest thing CLO has done for me was to get rid of my bilateral cataracts. Went to the doctor after two yrs with the cataracts just to see when the cataracts had matured enough to have them removed when much to my chagrin.....my cataracts had disappeared. Thank you Jesus. I was raised using old home remedies because Mama knew everything about folk medicine. Eight children in our family.❤❤❤. plus I am an expert medical language specialist ❤❤❤

I started taking cod liver oil maybe 6 months ago, and its health benefits have been huge. It was recommended to be for my very low vitamin D deficiency from liver condition, but after taking I found that it improved my immune system and restored my energy that was last during covid 19 infection. It helped my cognition, strength and overall better outlook.

I take a cheap bog standard one as I have not come across any others available locally so thanks for the heads up on what you take. I will check it out. I take a desertspoonful in my juice first thing in the morning. To achieve this amount you would need to take several capsules!

There is no such thing as "bad" cholesterol. Cholesterol is naturally produced by the body; if it did not we would die. Please clarify your statement on "bad" cholesterol - apart from that, big thumbs up!
@drstevenhulme

You’re right, we need both in balance. I think the reason why LDL is referred to as bad cholesterol is because it’s often the one to come out of balance (being too high) thus reducing it can be a good thing thus the term. However it’s perhaps not the best term.

I take 2000 I.U of Vit D (2 tabs x 1000 I.U) a day, so that is say 6 tsp's of this product to get the same amount of Vit D. The bottle has 30 X 5ml servings which would last me say 5 days which at A$75 a bottle works out a bit expensive. (not sure if would be safe to take 6 tsps a day in any case)

Hi Dr. Hulme, I live in 🇨🇦 and I’m 68 years old, I am always low in Vitamin D, I decided to purchase Nordic Naturals Cod liver oil, because I was doing this on my own I bought the children’s, I don’t know if it makes a difference. I began taking one teaspoon at breakfast and noticed that about 30 minutes later I would feel a bit lightheaded, I do continue on with my day but could this be that my body is getting used to it ? As a child in Europe my mother had given me and my siblings the cod liver oil. I so wanted to go the natural way. Thanks in advance .
@breesechick
@breesechick 6 ай бұрын
Sounds like you don't need to take the cod liver oil with the multivitamin that you're taking now if you are taking a multivitamin. Lightheadedness can be a symptom of overload but the vitamin A that is in our vitamins isn't a quality retinol which is what true vitamin A is like in the cod liver oil. You're better off with a cod liver oil than synthetic version or beta carotene version that your body has to process into retinol.

Cheaper than Nordic Naturals, its good one without the added synthetic D, is not recommended. Most others are rancid, so food sources would be better than a low quality product.

Is it correct fish oils become toxic if not kept refrigerated?
@greeneryfinancial
@greeneryfinancial Жыл бұрын
If they are not encapsulated immediately after production and remain as such yes - as they will oxidise even in a glass jar within a couple weeks to levels that would make it unhealthy. Pre-opening of a glass bottle it is fine, refrigeration after is required after to prevent the oxidisation - although it'll still happen slowly, becoming unhealthy after probably 90-150~ days and non-optimal after about 70~. If encapsulated they're fine until the capsule degrades (will become loose and overly soft relative to before) + some time (couple weeks); if the capsules are exposed to high-heat and stick together it'd probably be best to refrigerate to ensure the oil inside doesn't spoil, but generally they're fine if this happens and you can 'shake' them apart in the bottle without them breaking.

You should definitely keep liquid oil in the fridge if the bottle has been opened or just in general.
