My local pet store has this really cool rack system that does a drip and drain system that constantly changes the water for their bettas. That may be nice on you end so they don’t need to be changed so often :)

That is what I'll be making! Not a constant thing though, I'll have to turn it on manually like once a day or so for a full water change

I had a Metallic blue/green rose tail betta. When I got him the pet store said he was a half moon but he was clearly not. I didn’t know about the reys in rose tails were bent until I watched your live with big city bettas. Earlier this month he chewed off his tail which majorly improved his swimming. I thought he was doing great, then he just died! I had him for about 2 years so I don’t think he was old. All I know is that before he chewed off his tail he couldn’t swim. Then after he chewed it off he swimmers great. He had no discoloration or anything. Do you have any idea why he would just pass like that? I’m just so worried that it’s something in the tank, I have another dumbo eared plakat (I think that’s how you spell it) and he’s great! They shared a five gallon split, do you think it was something in the water that I should be worried about? Or not a big deal? (Sorry if I didn’t give you enough info!) I love your channel and I’ve been watching you for a while! Have a good day :)
@SimplyBetta7 жыл бұрын
Oh gosh, it is tough to say why he would die like that. Metallic bettas are prone to tumors, maybe he had some internal stuff going on. Thanks for following along!

Hey, I’m curious what your spawning procedure is. Everybody’s is a little bit different, but I’d like to know how long you let your betta couples see each other before actually letting them do their thing.
@SimplyBetta7 жыл бұрын
I don't usually give them those "dates", if my fish are well-conditioned all the time they are ready to breed and I can usually plop them in the tank together without any kind of "showing" or special conditioning and they'll spawn for me. If I am unsure, I'll add the male to the spawning tank and put the female in there too, but still in her jar. I can look at their body languages to see if they look like they will breed for me. If my fish are not conditioned for breeding, I will do the "dates" and let them see each other for a week or so while I fatten them up
@sooyoungie51377 жыл бұрын
Simply Betta Unfortunately my koi Male I’m trying to breed right now is probably the most awkward betta I’ve had. He is 6 months old but I haven’t seen a lick of a bubble nest from him. I first thought it was just because he just wasn’t interested, but now I think he just doesn’t know what to do. He is very socially awkward and doesn’t know how to behave around females. No flaring, no playfulness, just swimming and turning his head away at any female. Or he genuinely doesn’t know how to make a bubble nest. Which is a big problem.
