I don't live far from you maybe we will be able to meet,, keep on fishing. as always its just Bob. p.s. I used to fish tail water art Truman Lake,, loved it.

Thanks for another great day of fishing. I really appreciate your videos. The 5oz sinker was something I have never seen. I will be making one myself. Again, I love going fishing with you. Your friend in Tennessee

You will love the 5 oz retriever. I have used this one for 8 years now and over the years I tried dozens of them. It is by far the best one I have ever used. My favorite states, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Minnesota. Thanks again for your support.

Don't you lose your plug knocker if you are unable to free your lure?

I love your channel! It takes me back to my youth. I use to fish with my grandfather and uncle in all those lakes. We had some property in Hickory county near Cross Timbers. I grew up in South Texas but spent summers in your neck of the woods. I still have an aunt near Hermitage. I would live to get back up there for a fishing trip. We do a lot of jug lining for blues as well! In Lake Somerville TX. I had my first taste of pizza in Warsaw somewhere in the 70's at a Pizza Hut. Keep up the good work! Clay P.

@@jerryrouth6115 I love it! That's the main reason I don't often use crank baits as they're too expensive to lose! 😊

Jerry, Pomme was much better this time. Only thing missing was a walleye. I used to troll all the time in Oklahoma lakes but never with more than two poles. Like you said, when you cut the motor things can get squirrely pretty quickly. And yes, the same thing happened routinely on the 2d rod getting a strike. Perhaps it was the sudden pause that triggered a follow fish to hit the lure. Have a great week and good luck next time too. Don
@jerryrouth61155 жыл бұрын
Don, last year during the hot months we had a big die-off and I saw several dead Walleye. I fear the Walleye population suffered from that. The thermocline was strong last year and the tube drainage created a mixture of low oxygen in the lower end of the lake. The Spot Lock on my trolling motor really helps with the hang ups and multiple strikes. Gives you time to reel in the inactive rods. I just got a comment from a viewer who knows you and wants to meet me. I left contact info for him. Thanks for watching Don. We need to meet at the liars table sometime too.
@Winkiedoodles5 жыл бұрын
Jerry, several comments. First, that spot lock trolling motor is probably the best tech advance since fish finders. Secondly (and coincidentally) I was attempting to describe how to get from Jefferson City to Pomme yesterday after my friend Barry called and invited me down (for today). Anyway, when I googled the route, the quickest way (100 miles +/-) is 54 all the way to 65 and then to the various ramps on the NE side. When we lived in Springfield (and Willard), we usually went 13 to Bolivar and launched at the Bolivar landing on the S side if pleasure boating. If bass fishing, I would meet Barry (from Strafford) at a gas station north of Fair Grove and we would launch at the state park, Pittsburgh landing or Nemo. Lastly, the gentleman that knows us both is Pastor Bob from Fortuna. He has forgotten more about fishing than I'll ever know and is a fascinating angler. Liars table...hahaha. Yep that's about right. Have a great Labor Day weekend, Don
@jerryrouth61155 жыл бұрын
Don, the best way to come depends on where you want to fish as your past forays indicates. If you want to fish the Pomme arm I would stay on 54 all the way to Wheatland and launch on one of several launch areas depending on how far up the arm you wanted to go. You don't have as many choices on the Lindley Arm but accessing the from 65 would work. I need to give you my phone number so you can call me if you come this way. We could exchange numbers from my e-mail alternate at (jerry370@centurytel.net).
@Winkiedoodles5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the email address Jerry, and should the occasion arise that I'll be in your area ill contact you and exchange phone #s. At one point in time or another I've launched at every ramp on Pomme, fished both arms and night fished it as well. It can get spooky out there on moonless nights since it's not lit up at all. It was a nice lake for pleasure boating because there's no big boat traffic like LOZ or even Table Rock. Have a great labor day weekend, Don

I had a blast. I love multi-specie trolling. This has been a bad year with no thermocline but I like having to work for them. Oh, there was one drum there. I kinda slipped it in LOL. Thanks my friend and you know I love your channel.

My wife and I went to Pomme this afternoon to catch some green sunfish for catfish bait. We saw several Kayaks out there in spite of a pretty strong wind. You will love the retriever. I have literally tried dozens of them over the years and this is by far the best one I have used. I have been using it for about 8 years now so I have given it a pretty good try. Thanks Sarge for stopping by and taking time to comment. Your channel is coming along great. Keep working at it and you have my support.

I use the "Lure Hound" and it works most of the time. Yor DIY lure retiever worked pretty good. You caught plenty of mixed fish. It's a pain when you have to reel in the rods for a snag. Nice day to be out.
@jerryrouth61155 жыл бұрын
I just consider hanging up as just a part of the game LOL. Some people get all upset when they get hung up. They only go with me once!!!! I did get into a nice mixture of species and I like that. That's what this channel is all about. Once again Wayn, I can always depend on you, thanks for that buddy.

I was planning to leave one of my kayaks with my daughter in Columbia do you see many folks using them on that lake? Trolling from a kayak is a different level of fun on big fish
@jerryrouth61155 жыл бұрын
Mark, you got that right. I love trolling from a Kayak. My wife and I both love it. And yes, Kayaking is a popular way to fish here. My wife and I went to Pomme de Terre Lake yesterday afternoon and saw several Kayaks on the water. It was very windy and we were fishing for Green Sunfish to use for catfish bait. I was surprised to see them with the waves so high. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment.

Increasing your speed of troll, doesn't that increase the depth that your lure runs as well as the speed of your lure?
@jerryrouth61155 жыл бұрын
It does a little bit but we adjust the length of line to compensate for that when it matters. Trolling speed, length of line, line weight, distance of rod tip from the water and the use of trolling weights all come into play. It is fun to try and figure it all out. We are continuously monitoring all this. We monitor our water depth using Navionics and electronics. In the end if the lure is hitting the bottom at the desired depth that's is what we are looking for. Thanks for watching making insightful comments. That makes a great contribution to my channel.
