Code BROWN! 2 Days Fishing The Florida Keys - Sharks, Tarpon, Snapper, Flounder, Grouper and More!!

This was an awesome two days of filming and fishing in the Florida Keys!! I went out to explore a new area and by the second day I learned a lot and it paid off in the end! The Tarpon were biting and luckily I caught 1 and found some snapper, grouper, and even a flounder! The close encounter with the Bull Shark though probably increased my heart rate the most!! My list is extensive but a few are those I mentioned above and also maybe these: What are your current thoughts on Fluorocarbon vs Mono leaders? I hear you constantly talking about reducing your leader size when you are not getting bites. I have never even thought the could be a reason I am not getting bites? A final question is why when you fish offshore do you have our sinker so far away from your hook? What are your thoughts on that rig as opposed to dropper rig where the sinker can move around on the line?

Hey Rich- I have been loving the vids. Was down in Holden beach Friday and couldn’t go out, the wind was insane. I usually use a 7’ heavy, medium/fast would you use a 6000 size reel with that rod? I’m trying to find the sweet spot for an all-rounder spinning setup for Northeast inshore. One minute you have an average Blue & next you have one with big shoulder and a bad attitude..If you could only take one rod/reel what size rod/reel? tight lines-

I heard you say to someone that you put Dr. Juice on your lures. Well that little container you were using didn't have the name Dr. Juice on it, it said something with the word "Mullet" on it. When Dr. Juice first came out, there was like a cartoon picture of a man and a hat on it I think. Have they evolved since? I too was thinking of trying to get some more of it, for some reason or another, I lost it. When you bleed a fish, I noticed you stick them over your drive to bleed out. Do you not worry or at least be concerned about a shark hitting your kayak?

Nahhh not really. It’s not like I’m sticking a bunker chum over the side of the kayak or dangling the fish over the side and bleeding it. I find that to be the most logical way to do it so the shark can’t really see the fish.
