I agree, it is enjoyable to watch you on your own site again. I wonder if there is a gentle way of keeping track on the size increase of all of your fish.

Commenting from Australia, apologies if it's a dumb question, but are the shad easy to keep alive? Some of the bait/feeder fish we catch here seem to die no matter what you try to do to keep them alive. @@TheFishWhisperer1

I was at a lake in North Dakota recently there was no signs of any kind of life in this huge lake. There wasn’t even dead fish on the shore. Bugs or any kind of amphibious life. But yet it was a lake that people could swim in andboat in. I assumed it was heavily polluted.
@jic13 ай бұрын
Probably just shallow, when they freeze in winter it tends to cause low oxygen conditions that can cause fish kills.

I think it would be cool to tie on some top water lures without the hooks and see iff the bass go crazy

Do you think if you kept the shad alive and released them into the pond the bass would eat them all or all the gar would eat too

Is there a risk of parasites or toxins if you feed them wild caught shad?
@Superkuh23 ай бұрын
Probably not where he is but in Wisconsin there is a viral disease called Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia (VHS) spread by baitfish like shad. It's so serious it's against the law to transport live fish of any kind outside a body of water they are from. The only people that can have to abide stringent regulations associated with the $1000~ permit fee to be a live bait seller. Netting licenses are impossible to get.
@krdshrk3 ай бұрын
All the shad you catch - not sure if it's possible or feasible to keep some alive and let them loose in the pond? Let the Gar and Bass try to hunt them naturally? Or would that mess up your feeding?
@joshuaw20783 ай бұрын
I think for the first bit he was wanting to get them comfortable with him feeding them before he did any live feedings. He did mention on another comment that he’s planning on doing some live shad feedings soon though.
