Coming out great! A trick I used when installing my battery switch was to wrap the hole saw bit with some sandpaper and run it back through the hole. Opens it up evenly if you don't have a die grinder.

Nice job thanks for sharing!!! I'll like to say that... since you install classic batteries there is necessary some kind of ventilation inside there (a little air blower and a covered opening shall be enough) you see these batteries produce vapours.... Best regards from Hellas (Greece)!!!

Thanks, Gel coat can be tricky in hot weather. The warmer it is, the faster it is going to cure. I always try to work in the shade, sunlight will speed up cure times. If you can work very early in the morning when it is cooler. And you can even try cooling down the gel coat to extend cure times. In a perfect world, I would like low humidity and temps in the 70s. Hope that helps!

I kind of wish I had gone with Hummingbird graphs for my Minn Kota Riptide Terrova trolling motor. I really want to be able to program the trolling motor to ride a contour line at a certain speed. Granted, most of my fishing is mountain lakes in NE Georgia, but I could see where that would be useful inshore and maybe even offshore reef fishing too. Don't know how well Hummingbird graphs work for saltwater though. Something to look into.

Are you going to put gaskets on the hatches ? I’m building my boat right now with all Coosa and I’m trying to plan out building the hatches and am gonna do it just like you did but I want to put rubber gaskets but not sure how.
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 8 ай бұрын
I have not put any kind of gasket on them yet. They seem to hold ice very well even without a gasket. I am sure a gasket would make them hold ice even better, and be quieter too. I have not settled on a method for gasketing them, as it would need to be very durable for my application. If you find a material you really like, or have any suggestions I would be interested to hear it. Thanks for watching!

Love the videos. Sorry if you have already answered this but dis you originally make your boat mold from a software platform? Always wondered where the original design came from.
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 7 ай бұрын
Thanks, Glad you are enjoying the videos! I grew up in a boat-building family, so I designed this boat based on my needs for my charter business. I used a scale ruler and graph paper to lay out the original plans, and then we made adjustments as needed. Sorry I do not have any videos of the design and plug-building process, I wish I did. I appreciate you watching and commenting!

I have a 22 foot all Craft with a cracked stringer and the deck is glued down to what I call the cap. I wanted to remove the rub rail all the way around make the cut at the rub rail and then remove the deck. can I get that off? Can it be pried up with wedges to break that glue bond while applying upward pressure?
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 7 ай бұрын
Not all boats are assembled the same way, so it is hard to say for sure. But in my experience, it can be very difficult to remove the cap, without damaging something else in the process. There isn't really an easy way to get to the stringers. One way is to cut the floor itself out, leaving a 2 to 3-inch flange around the edges which gives you something to fiberglass back to. Hope this helps. Good luck with your project, and thanks for watching!

SOOOOOO many videos on here with people doing the absolute worst things and prime examples of what one should never do butchering their boats acting like they know what to do spreading horrible info. This is absolutely not one of those videos. I freaking love that hull. Good job dudes, and thanks for putting out detailed and very informative content! I dont think you can go wrong with either Garmin or Simard these days.

@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 8 ай бұрын
I would recommend using some of the 3M dry guide coat for the wet sanding process. It really helps you to know where you have already removed enough material, without removing too much. If you have to re- gel coat the area, apply more than you think you need, that way you have more of a buffer zone.
@FishBumpTV
