In this video I change the fluid in a fisher minute mount 2 hd2 plow. I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.
Approximate fluid capacity is, The insta-act reservoir holds approximately 1-3/4 quarts and the insta-act system total holds approximately 2-3/8 to 2-3/4 quarts.
Fisher drop rate adjustment: Fisher plow drop rate adjustment. sehp, insta act, hd2, mm1, mm2, and more. • Fisher plow drop rate ...

PJ G I’ve never used a Meyer. I actually like the earlier minute mount 2 plows with the three plugs. I think these newer ones with the pressure relief let the plow get forced over too easily. Also there making them too complicated with two modules. I get it it’s probably easier to run them this way to use the same controller to run different style plows but there getting hard to diagnose. I just had a truck with a bad controller that was hard to figure out the problem. There is only 4 wires on the controller to make to do all the functions, two wires are power to the controller and two are the control to the plow. I imagine it works on a can type of communication which is the need for the plow module but you need a scope to verify the problem. At least I think that’s how it works. The springs on the trip edges are pretty weak to. Personally I still have a minute mount 1 on my personal truck still works well, I just have to keep messing with the lift cylinder seal though. I changed the seal and the ram but i have to keep tightening it because it starts to leak after a few storms. Anyway thanks for watching I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.

hi Bro, good vid. I was just gifted a ford 250 super duty with a mmII to use as a yard (plow) truck. Just plowed our first plowable snow up here in maine. at the end of using it. the up and down cylinder would barely lift it and was hitchy as it did. And the left and right cylinder stopped working all together. The history of the truck is it sat for 4 years after hitting a deer, the plow was attached and sat with it. I was thinking checking fluid level first and going fom there, any suggestions? Ive never owned a plow in the past so i have zoro experience troubleshooting.

Is this a problem when I gets hot after using it or is it still doing it since? There is a screen under the electric motor on the front of the pump that may have gotten clogged if there was contamination in the oil and starving the pump. I would check the oil and if it’s full just change it and check the screen on the pump. Can you hear the pump running when it’s not moving? There are other issues it could be but I’d check those first before you start checking the actuator valve.

ok, will do that first. Ive only plowed once so dont know about it being hot and never thought to listen for the pump running when not using. Thank you sir!@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic

i just finshed changing the oil. im up in maine we got a storm coming tomorrow. i found two screens when i dropped the resevour from the pump. the intake side was cleaner than clean. I couldnt believe it. thought for sure it would be gunked up. there was another tube that had a round shaped screen on it. it also was very clean. so i cleaned out the tank and cleaned the magnet off. then reattached it to the pump and filled it up. i made sure the fluid level was correct after working all the pistons. seemed to work fine. it worked great for a couple of passes then once again it started a slow hitch up. then no left to right. then i put it down and it would not lift. (exact same symptons.) When i shut the truck off. i unplugged all the connections, plugged them back in. started her up and then it worked fine again. weird. oh and i also took all the connections that were under a little black box off one by one and put dialective grease on them then re connected them. Maybe electrical? i have three different plug-ins for the plow. any thoughts?@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic

You might be having a bad connection to the solenoids in the plug. The pump will run separately from the solenoids. Next time it happens (if it does) wiggle the plug that goes to the solenoids. I’ll grab the plug where they plug together and kinda twist them to try and get a good connection again. It might just be the plugs. Depending on exactly what it’s doing it could be the power plug if the motor isn’t running and if the motor is running freely and the plow is not moving i would look at the solenoid plug. Here is a few manuals that might help. library.fisherplows.com/fisherplows/pdffiles/21935_120098.pdf library.fisherplows.com/fisherplows/pdffiles/26407.02_060105.pdf

Curious did you leave the fill plug off when you were raising and lowering it to test the level of fluid and also why take the grey cap off ? Great step by step video
@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic
@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic 3 жыл бұрын
The grey cap is a vent cap. You probably don’t need to remove it, to be honest I can’t remember why I did. I did put the plug back in when I operated the plow, not tight but finger tight. If you leave the plug out fluid can come out of the fill and make a mess, especially when your bleeding the air out.

the ram is so easy to push down on your plow.. i feel like i have to pull out the ratchet strap every time I want to take it off my truck

There are two different style hydraulic pistons. One with a gland nut and one with a packing nut. The gland nut is tightened to a certain torque and the nut bottoms out on the tube which is what this plow has. The packing nut is tightened by hand as tight as you can then turned a 1/4 turn. It doesn’t bottom out it squeezes the packing stack. If you have this type and it is too tight it will keep the ram from sliding in the packing and cause the packing to wear out quicker. I have the packing nut on my personal plow, and an older work plow. I don’t like that style because it seems to leak when adjusted per the manual and they seem to back off a lot. If you have this type you might be able to back it off a little and it should move easier unless the Ram is bent.

There could be an issue with the float circuit. Does it drop fast under the weight of the plow? There is drop rate adjuster if it’s too slow it might make it hard to push down. Or the float valve might not be staying open all the way. I would put the plow on the ground and remove the hydraulic hose and see if the cylinder will push down easy with the hose off to isolate if it’s the cylinder or the pump.

Do you have the filter change video ??
@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic
@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic 3 жыл бұрын
I do not have a filter change video. Sorry. To change the filter you will need to drain the oil, remove the bolts that hold the pump to the head gear because I don’t believe the tank will come off with out tilting the pump. I would try it first but I don’t think it will make it. Then remove the bolts on the tank, and the tank. The filter pulls off. There should be an oring on the filter and then the assembly is the reverse of the removal.

Any issues with the plow side module being exposed for the fleet flex wiring and not under cover?
@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic
@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic 3 жыл бұрын
It does have a front and back cover that does an ok job of keeping it protected. I don’t see any real signs of corrosion or anything with the wiring. We haven’t had any real problems with the plow side wiring or electronics. We do have one truck that has had about 3 fleet flex joystick controllers though. It’s been ok for about a year now and I don’t know why they just stopped working.

What do you connect the single red wire that goes through the firewall with the controller to ? The instructions say a "switched accessory". Do you connect it to a fuse in the fusebox that turns on when the ignition is turned on ? Thanks.

Hey there I just swapped out the fluid in my old snow plow I bought off of somebody and the fill cap was making the hissing sound of air coming out any idea what that is? too much pressure in there? or is that normal. subbed btw.

If it’s an older sehp pump and piston then some don’t seem to have vents, at least mine doesn’t. It may just be a pressure build up. I get that with my sehp plow. I’ve seen some cases have a vent but mine is not there and I could never find it. If it has the grey vent cap on the insta act pump then I’d check the vent for being clogged. Thank you for subscribing I appreciate it.
