Went on a fishing and camping trip for 2 days. I fished the galveston seawall beach jetty, some canals, and then fished galveston fishing pier. There was a creature lurking under the pier that has been stealing people's stuff for a looooooooong time!

I fought a ray once wings looked to be 8 feet wing to wing. Using 50 lb line and a 100 lb leader it actually almost completely spooled me out twice just to surface it it was too big to bring in just to surface it took 30 minutes due to the resistance of water against the wings. so i got a picture on the old flip phone. After i let it rest it dived and swam off it was impossible to stop on a 50 lb rod with a shimono 80 lb reel. Spooled me out in 4 seconds of 200 yards.

I just caught the same 40 inch northern pike off the same pile of rocks 3 days apart. It's a big point that's all boulders and I think he lives here full time. Now he's got 2 holes in his mouth I hope he don't get a 3rd

Piers offer good cover for all sorts of bait/shell fish so the pylons are decent cover as your Drum proved = it had 2-3 hooks & then hit you. I'm glad you got him up & cleaned those hooks out. I ought to be out fishing now/ giving me the, fever..... peace

Now throw the bait net and get your live bait ... You have a live well ? To keep the bait alive... Redfish, Snook, Cobia , and other fish love a good size pinfish...

@@BeachBomberFishing I earned my nickname... I would go out and catch the right bait to use during the hurricane... I will never forget 2004 September 24th... I pull up on the St. Petersburg Pier... And I get out my rod and I hook on a bait and drop it in the water ... 3 second go bye and their goes my reel screaming... I go over and pick it up and check to see if the fish hooked himself... Which he did and I rolled that beautiful 31" snook in first ... Next bait gets dropped and 20 minutes later I'm bringing in a 31" gag grouper.... So I try another bait and I catch a 27 " redfish and I turn to the guy that helped me land all those fish with my bridge landing net .... And I say , thank you for your help and here's a little reward.. Take that redfish home and feed your family... I enjoy fishing and rewarding people who likes to help out with the landing ... And my students will tell you... I feed them for landing my fish
