Sharks aren't stupid! He was trying to knock this guy off the little boat so he could get at him. Lots of stories of ppl drifting in a boat, and sharks would ram the bottom of the boat to try to knock something off, so they can get at it. They are predators and aren't stupid. Especially a old one.

Yeah people need to realize wild animals are *_WILD_* !!!! Just because the average wild animal will not attack unless they confuse you with something else or feel threatened by you does NOT mean they won't just randomly attack sometimes. They can and will attack you for whatever reason they want whenever they want however they want because they are *_WILD_* ! You should always assume that. Sometimes animals will go seek out people and attack them just because they feel like it, even when it has nothing to do with territory, mistaken identity or feeling threatened. Heck, even chimpanzees are known to sometimes just attack for no reason without provocation or warning. They just felt like it and were bored. It is not the majority, but there is some that are like that. It is a little bit like humans, most are decent and wont attack unless harmed or threatened first, but there is some humans who are bad and will attack people for no reason at all. Same thing with animals, except animals are way less predictable.

Never seen a shark attack from that angle before. That was scary af. The way he built up speed at the last 15ft and lunged like that. If you were swimming and didnt see it coming it would be an instant out of body experience then instant shock. Like getting hit by a car, i dont even want to imagine. I went to high shool with a kid that was a big surfer, he lost his leg in Hawaii to a shark attack. Extremely sad. Stay safe folks

That shark attacked him on attempt to predate!!!! He looked like dinner with zero 2nd thought. Tiger sharks are twice as aggressive than a white 🤍 shark when on the hunt.... This lad did the right thing by staying calm. Unreal Aussie.❤🎉
