FF8 was my first final fantasy game and when I made it to fisherman’s horizon and heard this music, I felt something. It’s so soulful and melancholic, it brought a tear to my eyes when I first heard it. Definitely one of my top pieces of music from Nobuo Uematsu and the FF series.

Yes I agree. This piece is an example of a rather simple (not eaay) concept eloquently turned into a beautiful and unforgetable piece of art. As Nobuo does. Guess this is the closest thing too what "coming home" sounds like.

I just realised, the face expression on squalls face on the FF8 Logo. It's a sad love sickened face you can feel the deep pain on his heart for how much he cares for Rinoa and for her safety. This is also related to how he keeps his thoughts to himself and suffers alone. Only he knows how much he loves her. The end of the game is the final moment where he finally takes off this sad mask.
