You know how you can tell when it is a great performance? When the audience is silent for a couple seconds before erupting into applause at the end. I found myself staring blankly at the screen at the end of this video for a couple of seconds having soaked up the weight of these lyrics and images.

@@ukaszb5575 Plus, with all respect to Fish, credits to Mickey Simmonds (shortly seen in the vid). Musicians (like Fish) not playing instruments cannot compose music in the strict sense (cannot construct harmonic structures, at best can sketch vocal lines) so they collaborate with proper players and in this sense this song (and most on the Vigil album) owes more than we think to MS's songwriting skills. For the same reasons most drummers aren't songwriters in their bands - unless they can play some melodic/harmonic instrument too, if only for songwriting purposes.

@@greg-warsaw4708 między innymi dlatego tak potoczyła się kariera Fisha po odejściu z Marillion. Jest świetnym tekściarzem ale to było za mało żeby utrzymać się w mainstreamie. Czasy też nie sprzyjały takiej muzyce ,. Rozkwit grunge, rocka z USA (Gunsi , Metallica) takie piosenki choćby były super melodyjne były skazane na wąską grupę odbiorców (w większości z czasów fascynacji Marillion)

Yes life is short, we have to make the most of it. I am going to Utrecht on 8 and 9 October and Antwerp in November. Looking forward to the concerts. Marillion and Fish are the most important band/singer to the sountrack to my life from the early 80ties until now. Then to think of it that the concerts where planned for 4 years ago. Covid messed up the world. I hope that Fish comes once in a while with a update of what he is doing. Maybe we need to visit Simone and Fish there business when they are up and running 😉

Marillion were very underestimated, such classic records amd fish is such a poet. I saw him in Southampton on th Vigil tour and only about 4 rows on people came but he sat on the stages performed as if there were 1000s there but with lots of chatting and friendliness. Npthing but love for Fish
