Fishing the clear winter waters off 1770 at the Southern end of the Great Barrier Reef at this time of year is a must, the conditions are typically calm and the sharks are usually subdued. This video is a mash up of sessions over another 3 days of fishing from the shallow waters to the depths of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. I'm fishing a mix of vibration baits, soft plastics and vertical jigs during slow stages of the tide and average periods of the solunar calendar when the usual predictability of baits getting eaten vs lures getting hit out of reaction aren't usually in favour of the latter. This theory of bait vs lure on any given time of year, moon or tide, seems go both ways but the older I get and the more techniques I fish I'm finding there is always the right presentation or more effective technique to consistently catch fish no matter the situation.
