BIG BAIT FLATS FISHING.

In this video I'm back out with the Flying Dutchman chasing a feed of flathead for the family on the flats. It's my first attempt on the flathead during this years build up to spring and I struggled to find the numbers that were around this time last year. Without the rains we had the year before I don't think the fish have been on the move as much and the only way to find them is to move around and go to the fish instead of letting them come to you. With this game plan in mind we set about hitting a variety of different spots with the Dutchman throwing small offerings and myself predominately sticking to the big baits.

@@LiamFitzpatrick now ya can get a clay no sulphur in it as well found a dough is far better for assist hooks to make weedless or blue tac gives more weight. That's for micro lure fishing.

I’ve never caught one there, a mate got two over 60cm one day off the front terminal and another mate got one further up river. I know of others caught up above the city reaches mate.
