Good session you had. I'm Pike fishing over here at the moment, they are really similar to Musky. Tight lines mate

Fun vid, John. And a note of thanks: thank you for always wearing your PFD. I see some KZbin fishing channels where they don't and it is a good way to get into trouble. Leading by example! Thanks! PS Whenever I lose a fish I always take out my file (on a pin-on) and sharpen those hooks!

Nice fish, i still haven't gotten any musky, just their lure thieven' cousins, chain pickerel. I broke a rod setting the hook on a 10 inch bass last week, just glad it wasn't a better fish!

John next time if you pull fish back and forth it will get them going water needs to move across gills. You should come fish. Licking river in Ky. It's full of muskies

What’s wild is that there’s a creek a few minutes from me that I saw Alex catch a couple muskie out of on his channel. The creek eventually feeds to a well known muskie lake, but this spot is WAY upstream from the river/lake. I saw some serious splashing when i bank fished it a while back. Makes me wonder now if it was from muskies!

nice video and always geat to see you out having fun. when muskie fishing its always important to have a few critical tools for the health of the fish and angler, long pliers, hook cuters, big net and a wire leader or seriously heavy floro carbon are critical. muskies are a low density fish in the most ideal senarios. they are native where your at and deserve best treatment by the angler. i know its just fishing and for fun but good practices go a long way in taking care of these creatures. not leaving lures in fish and treating them well is esential for all to enjoi and the conservation of these wonderful native fish. you have a giant platform that reaches many anglers, im sure you are an example and inspiration for many anglers. good luck you make great videos, just some things to think about moving forward with muskies. let me know if i can help.

Thank you for saying this. People don’t get it. And I worry about anyone who jams their rod into the rocks to free a lure and then is surprised when it breaks.
@willfortenbaugh28 күн бұрын
@squonto47 i was trying to be nice, hope it came across that way, i hope john realizes that having a platform like this channel your more than just a dude fishing but an example for others to follow, like it or not it. poor muskies have alot against em pepole like to gain popularity by fishing for them but spending a few extra dollars on a real net leaders and some cheap tools at the hardware store to take care of them is out of the question. examples of pepole doing it wrong without proper tools for effective c&r will live on as a bad example for ever.

Well I've definitely never caught a muskie lol but I have always gone dippin with my dad and then my son in little creeks and waterholes here in West Tennessee lol to catch little turtles and native fish for my aquarium and I've caught quite a few little runt cousins of the muskies lol grass pickerels and I'm always super excited when I get one:)

You can learn to slide your 4 fingers inside the gill plate and use your thumb outside to safely pick them up without a net. I grew up fishing pike and it's quicker, they can't twist the net and line into a mess and it's better for the fish that way too. Just fyi. I could show you how if you want.

Throw a big spook or in- line buzz bait or spinner and you will have a better chance. Those musky prefer a bigger bait.
