That rough in a small boat and no life jackets on for far too long... glad to see you made a good choice and put them on though!!

Yup!! Typical waitamata & fish in the harbour. Sometimes a beer @ the local & a few from the fish shop is easier 🤣. I appreciate the effort though... as we all tend to hope for something different!....the struggle is real, chur

Without trying to sound like a smart ass. Looking at your forecasts of an afternoon 20knot SW combined with an afternoon incoming tide going in the opposite direction, that increases the wave height and steepness alot. A good lesson learned. There are old fishermen and there are bold fishermen. But there are no old bold fishermen. Glad you made it home safe. Also I recommend those inflatable life jackets and always wear them no matter the size of your boat.

Thank you. Agree on the life jackets. We shouldn't have gone fishing on that day in the first place. The video is basically a tutorial on what you must NOT do. Daz didn't even have the kill switch on, he wondered if anyone would comment on that. But we were moving around 12 pm -1.30 am so the water moved in the same direction and didn't move much as it was the last two hours of the outgoing tide.

Had some fun times going through the Motuihe channel when it switches up like that. Learned quickly to wait an hour or 2 in the nth bay.
