My fiancée bought her pond prowler from her grandfather for $1 and my buddy gave me a brand new min kota trolling motor and battery that he wasn’t going to use. Probably the best deal of our lives lol

Duuuude! No joke!! These things are becoming more and more expensive on the second hand market.

what I done for rod holders. I put a milk crate on the back and put my batteries in it and attached 3 rod holders to it one for the net and the other two for the poles and also attached my fish finder to it works great.

Years ago I got a Bantam Bass Tracker from Cabelas and it had a rod locker and a small live well in the middle. It was a great boat. Wish they would make these newer boats like that. Most of the time I used the live well for storage, which worked out great.

All the old models were better it seems like. My favorite designs are long discontinued. Sucks!

@@GreysonRoberts The new boats added cleats, battery tie down and updated padded seats. I still liked my old boat better. A few of you YT guys have done some amazing mods to these new boats.

for the electrical re charge i would install a canopy for the rear of the little boat and install a 100 watt solar panel folding or permanent installed, the 100 watt per hour makes 5.15 amps back into the battery per hour, something to thing about, unless your into ROWING HOME?
@GreysonRoberts7 ай бұрын
Definitely something to consider! I've never gone below 60% battery on my new deep cycle but could be a great solution for when I do the intercoastal waterway!

I'm actually looking at getting one of these in the next few days. It's a very simple affordable option to get 2 people on the water and do some fishing. I think the fact it comes with the 2 seats is a huge plus. To have to buy them separately would be roughly an extra $150-$200 from the prices I've seen. Was curious about stability but I think you just summed that up pretty well in your vid. My mind is made up I believe.Should be on the water soon !!!
@GreysonRoberts4 ай бұрын
You won’t regret it! If stability is a big factor for you like it was for me, I highly recommend you check out my stability test here on the channel!

I have one. My wife and I enjoy fishing out of it. I just think it needs to be a little bit wider. Another foot or so would really help. Other than that, I really like it.

What's the brand of the tiny white boat in yours garage? My lake doesn't allow motors of any kind. White one looks like it would be better for rowing.
@GreysonRoberts16 күн бұрын
That’s the west marine water tender! Comes with oar locks, better row boat indeed
@ToeTag1968Ай бұрын
Good review. Why not put a couple of wheels at the back? It sure would make maneuvering it easier. Quite a few yacht boat tenders do this. They're coming straight from the ship and want a way to just wheel it up onto the sand.
@rhansen4358 ай бұрын
I have owned 3 of these boats.I really like them.The only thing I don’t like is the raised “cup holders” on top of the deck.They are totally useless and get in the way of your rods when you lay them on the deck.I also make aluminum skid plates and epoxy them to the bottom corners of the boat,as I have burned holes in the corner from dragging the boat over rocky surfaces,causing the inner hull to fill up with water.
@GreysonRoberts8 ай бұрын
The cupholders are worthless that's why I just put a fish finder in one. I've seen some mods to improve them but I just bring my drinks in sealed hydroflask water bottles
@rhansen4358 ай бұрын
@@GreysonRoberts I have the 10-1/2 footer.I only use 1 seat,so I cut a piece of composite deck material that fits where the seat goes and mounted my fish finder on it.I really love these boats.It’s getting harder to unload from my truck,as I am 65 years old and have a bad back.Fishing has always been my passion since childhood.I have been fishing local tournaments for the last 25 years.I honestly use this boat much more than my 18-1\2 ft tournament boat.

Interesting. I just bought one also. I actually bought 2. One for spare. Just in case. I have a 34lb thrust. Moves my boat pretty good. Please let me know how that 50AH battery did for that 55lb thrust. Or if you could maybe do a video would really help some of us tiny boat people. @@GreysonRoberts
@GreysonRoberts9 ай бұрын
@@Average_Joe_Fishing_Show absolutely! I actually sold that motor because that shaft was too short so my prop would stick out of the water. I’m going down to a 46lb thrust. Once it’s all tested for a week or two I’ll make a video!

Part of the reason I got rid of this style boat was the need for a trailer and lack of maneuverability. However, I miss the stability and ability to bring a friend along. I stuck with my fishing kayak, but I often think about it.
