These effects are great, great use of models in a small lake, plus an actual full size boat with real actors in some shots. There’s actually no cgi in this scene, it’s all practical miniatures and life sized.

You know if they had named this something else besides Godzilla I think people would have been more receptive to it. Still would have had problems (ie the dialogue and some illogical moments) but it’s a pretty solid kaiju movie

In the next scene, Colonial Hicks is informed by a soldier that three fishing trawlers have gone down. The soldier then states that they were pulled under. I guess we can assume these sailors were rescued.

Those ropes are thick and hard to cut. Scissors defiantly wouldn't be able to cut them and I doubt knives would be able to either.

The NET portion was still in the water, the only thing they could cut were the ropes. Machetes would of been helpful.
