17:00 your batoning problems are threefold 1) dense wood 2) short blade 3) your baton needs more mass - especially length. I've tried batoning with a small baton like that, and it takes you like 2x longer because you need to strike it so many more times.

Excellent video as always. That must be some very hardwood. Because I have owned those saws, (240 & 130 large tooth.) by your recommendation, for several years. And in the Midwest of the USA. There is only one type of wood that is that difficult to go through with those saws. And you are absolutely correct. At least 10 feather sticks. 30 more minutes of preparation insures it’s a good fire.

@igit_72963 жыл бұрын
Dr. Wako is kind of a humiliating thing to call him - he’s just a little misguided about the “uniqueness” of Japanese human beings and their “special” immune system . The only thing that kept the first wave of COVID down was the science based response (contact and retroactive tracing, masks and above all, vigilant social distancing, as advised by Dr. Oshitani Hitoshi & Dr. Omi Shigiru. The creator of this content lives in Japan and he knows this to be true. He shouldn’t be spread wacky propaganda. The Delta variant doesn’t care about social distancing and no one has told it that the Jaoanese are immune to it - it has a black belt at being contagious, which is why the healthcare system in Osaka prefecture is on the verge of collapse and it’s why both Tokyo and Okinawa have declared a state of emergency.

There are 3 knives that In my experience can do everything. Becker BK7, TRC Mille Cuori and a properly rerpofiled Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110 (I have also sanded down it's handle a bit, and made its ergos perfect). J-P Peltonen Sissipuukko M07, is another knife that can do it all. BK7 has the advantage that it can also chop, but it's less comfortable than the others, on any other kind of use. However, it's the one of the best, if not the BEST, 7 inch jack of all trades knife on the market.

@@Bob_Adkins I’m not judging, lol. I’m making an observation…I’ll still watch and I enjoy his videos. The thing is, he attributes Japan’s relatively successful response to COVID to the mighty physiological makeup of Japan’s citizens. Their immune system is “stronger”. lol. Of course that is a silly conclusion for him to make. The reason the Japanese were more successful than the Americans at stanching the spread of Covid is that they are obedient. The Japanese citizens are an obedient people and they obey authority. Dr. Omi Shigeru, who headed Japan’s response to COVID, aggressively pursued a science based approach - complete with rigorous retrospective testing. When the government dictated that crowds were to avoided, the Japanese diligently went ‘all-in’ on social distancing. The Japanese have been less affected by Covid is because they are obedient citizens. It has nothing to do with some kind of super-Japanese immunity to disease. Still love this guy’s videos, even though he’s revealed himself to be a little nutty.

Again, I don’t want to be too critical of the creator if this content; he looks like a senior citizen and might be prone to “strange-old-guy-logic”, and I like his videos. But what he’s saying is just kind of dumb. Japan successfully resisted the 1st wave Covid, despite low vaccination rates, because they listen to authority, respect expertise and are obedient. The government enforced social distancing, quarantines, contact tracing & mask wearing, and the public diligently followed the government’s lead.

@igit_72963 жыл бұрын
@@OGMoose-rm7vz you can check what measures the Japanese and its Government took to combat Covid. A lot of literature on the topic is available. Very boring and non-controversial; social distancing and masks and of course the washing of the hands. You probably have some secret information, and that’s fine, but it was these boring ‘ol measures that 99% of the population used… …and it worked. The reason masks don’t work against Delta is because Dekta is x50 more contagious than the previous variant - and that’s why Delta is running rampant in Osaka. This “Doctor” sounds a bit like an out-of-touch old guy who has bizarre theories on the superhuman qualities of the Japanese - and has voiced them on the interwebs. The Doctor you might look up is Dr Shigeru Omi - the guy who helped Japan’s initial response to Covid last year - knifeguy not so much. Virtuovoice believes in Q’anon, in case you weren’t aware.
