I have enjoyed your content for a while now and subscribed right after you retired. I have made the decision to separate at 15 years to pursue my education and will be attending UH Main next spring. It's been stressful with planning and coordinating and losing an income source for my family. But getting back to Texas and being able to fish such a great ecosystem is one of those silent perks I am very excited about.

Hey brother, make sure if you haven’t already to apply for your disability with the va. I know that going from active duty and transitioning back to veteran life can be difficult with a family in order to pursue school but make sure you put in for it within 1 year of leaving the military.

I caught a black drum on a poppin cork last month in the same spot about the same size 😂 hopefully this fall weather pushes some bigger reds & some nice specs in there

Great video, Mark, nice job with the casting net for the finger mullet! You sure had a day of mixed species, I kind of expected you to hook into a good-sized flounder around those drains, I guess those days are coming! Take care and be safe!

i got skunk today and i dunno what i was doing wrong because the water was flat and awesome and there was so much bait everywhere everywhere. And the birds weren’t working it hard but something kept spooking the bait and i tried every lure and spoon and paddletail i had almost. Many different colors. Only one or two bumps on a strawberry and glitter paddletail but jee golly gosh darn if any you more experienced guys got any ideas I’d wanna be coachable to it! 😅 Bolivar Pocket north jetty, I just hiked like a mile out onto the jetty. Water was so nice looking today July 3! barely any wind! outgoing tide about 3 hours after high tide

yes! and a quibble😅 the founders God bless them, used oxford commas, which was taught in schools until maybe the nineties or 2000s? Anyway that’s what i was taught. e.g., life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. versus life, liberty and the pursuit of happines. We use 2 commas because they are 3 distinct yet related things whereas an and with no comma combines it and implies no brief pause at all when you say it out loud. 😂 k sorry. or, sorry not sorry for being “that guy” lol. bryan beach, quintana jetty, surfside jetty, christmas bay, san luis pass, jamaica beach, west Galveston Bay, east Galveston beach or Stewart beach, Galveston south jetty next to Stewart beach, east Bay, Trinity Bay, Galveston North Jetty on Bolivar peninsula. All and all of the marshes just west of all of those places I typed for you. It was a quick list but I ordered them in a roughly south to north order. Pull out your map and type in each one beginning from the first you will see how I ordered it geographically starting more south and then working it north for you. There’s almosr not a spot you can’t go and it not be good if the tides are right and the conditions are right and you have both live bait and artificials to experiment with. Tight lines!!
