The reason there is so much water is that the weight of all the snow we got is pushing down on the ice. Therefore water is getting pushed up through the ice. Me and my friend experienced this last week but were confused because there was over a foot of solid ice. Hopefully this helped and keep making bangers

Flair I am a huge fan and have been watching your videos forever. The Fish tank should be a fine size for the gill in my opinion because I have kept two in a 20 gallon also. when you start to get a build up of snow on top of the ice, the slush forms from the insulation the snow gives...in Northern WI, we currently have like 2-3 feet of snow on the ice and there is a solid foot of slush on top of the ice..it sucks

Sunfish can withstand high nitrates but ammonia will burn the gills of any fish so be careful when cycling the tank. If you keep the tank temp below 70f then ammonia isnt so toxic because its no longer ammonia but an ionic ammonia called ammonium which doesn't burn fish gills.

The Ice has cracks in it so when heavy snow lads on the Ice it pushes the Ice down in the water and water pushes through the Ice och that’s why there is water on top of the Ice. Very usal here in sweden
