I live less than 30 minutes from the keys, and I love, and I love and enjoy immensely knowing these details of our great and grandparents' life in South Florida. Thank you for always bringing always something interesting to the table ... no pun intended.

Brave man leaving your cell phone on the bridge railing while casting. If that was me, I would have bumped it into the drink! One thing I've noticed is Aaron is always the 1st to say "I'm going in". LOL He can't wait to dig in. I'm all about that jam. Looked delicious.

I love the way you made your grits with the butter and half and half. I will copy that. Sometimes I drop eggs into my cooking grits in the last few minutes. It poaches them nicely.

No matter what type of soup or stew I’m making I always put in some type of mushroom, Cajun seasoning, Tabasco and dry sherry. That always adds so much flavor. Live your channel. Mangrove snapper love shrimp, fresh or frozen. Squid is the ticket for grunts and mangs usually leave it alone, especially from bridge fishing.

Being from the south grits are a staple. I'm in Tennessee so grunts are out but bluegills are plentiful so gills and grits it is if I can figure out tomato leek jelly. Thanks for sharing another great video.

I've heard you can poach eggs like that but I've never seen it...that's pretty cool, but I hope it's okay with you if I stick with Mom's poaching pan, lol. This was pretty epic Will. The presentation, as Madeliene said was really amazing. And Sir, I'd like to say you've gotten better at your fishing skills, some really nice casts into the edges! Another great video, Will! The finesse and attention to detail in your recipes is awesome. I have to make that jam now!! Love how you eyeball the half and half but measure the grits with precision. Is that because you can adjust the liquid as it cooks down?

I've had shrimp and grits tons of times. Never heard of grunts and grits, but you can make just about anything into a culinary delight.👍

It’s hard to actually find the history on it. But a lot of the old timers here will tell you all about it. Really a huge culinary corner stone of the Florida keys

I kid you not. I went out tonight to catch grunts to make this recipe and I couldn't catch one to save my life. I couldn't even catch a keeper anything. Undersized mangroves, yep. Undersized black drum, got them too. 2 pound puffer fish! Oh wait, can't keep them in the Indian River. 😔 Maybe tomorrow.....

I chopped up about 4-5 pieces of bacon and rendered that down, drained half the fat. Added 3 sliced leeks, cooked them down. Added 6 SMALL chopped tomatoes. Cover and cook down completely add one spoon brown sugar. Cook a little longer. Set aside until cool then blend.
