Thanks Alex. I’ve watched 1000 videos on fishing a zig rig properly (I’m from the US and fishing with different carp rigs is still a foreign concept), but your video finally started to make sense to me.

The first time I ever did this was at the roach pond in Lindfield when I was a kid in the 80s. All the small carp were cruising near the surface. I was mind blown when it actually worked!
@adamrichard17125 ай бұрын
Yep there's nothing more exciting as watching a fish taking bait from the surface. And 80's was the best era in fishing mate. No fancy gears and hi-tech stuff. We had to put our brains in it and figure it out for ourselves, and that's exactly why we felt super satisfied.. cheers 👍🏻👍🏻

Dear Carl and Alex Again a great video. Thank you for this. I was wondering if you fish zig rigs close together. Is it a good idea to get the rods close together on different depths to find where the fish are or is this asking for tangles? Kind regards.

Zig rigs you either love them or hate them!
@EricPollarrd2 жыл бұрын
And the massive disadvantage to zigging on the surface is you’re not gonna be able to yank it out the way of a duck as quick as u can a float 😬 My lake is crammed with birds so this summer am aiming to zig a foot under the surface while still baiting with floaters, be interesting to see if there’s as many takes as being on the top. If the carp are focused on the surface baits however they mightn’t even spot a bait 1ft below, but at least the freakin ducks shouldn’t spot it and dive
