I always thought of Cutlassfish as a western Pacific species. I know they are caught in Korea and Japan, and I always see them here (Hawaii) in our Korean markets frozen. I tried some once, and though tasty they were a tad bony. Thanks for a great video!

down here in florida, there are spots where cutlass are everywhere. when fishing at night, they would sometimes jump into the boat. 500 is average on a good day. granted i target them since the big ones have great fillet. great vid, I am a new fan.

Down here in Galveston you'll catch at least 5 while fishing for Flounder and Trout they'll bite mullet a lot

I've fished that exact same spot many times and the best way to catch those Ribbon fish would to use live bait it works perfectly

Caught around 70 of those in hampton the other night. Being an Asian myself, I love eating these fishes since i was young. You can find them in most asian market and they sell for a decent price.

i actually use a # 20 hook "very small" with little pcs of fish skin on my sons rod. to catch those silver sides or smelts. not anything to it. i let my 5 year old go to town. can catch them all day long. wile i fish for the big boys
