Hello again everyone! In this video you can find me surf fishing for fluke with bucktails and gulp looking for a keeper. The first Few fish were caught really close to shore. I end up with one keeper fluke and take it home to make the most delicious fluke Francese! This was truly delicious. I hope you enjoy this one!

I look forward to surf fishing more than anything else every year. I only get a small window to go, and I release everything so I don’t mind all the “trash” fish. Besides, nothing beats the quiet calm of the beach at sunrise, boogie boarding all day, and then drawing a crowd by catching dogfish in the late afternoon. I love watching people’s reactions, (especially how the late swimmers bolt out of the water), and parents love when their kids get to pet a “shark”. It definitely makes the kids’ summer. I still hope for a striper or bluefish but that would be pure luck this time of year. I’m thinking of switching things up and targeting fluke close and in the wash with light tackle while still chunking bunker and clams farther out with the surfcaster. I’ve only caught fluke in the bay, so pulling a doormat out of the surf would be something else.
@thelinecook3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment I really enjoyed it. If you are fishing the Jersey shore like I am a bluefish or fluke would be the fish to target. There aren’t too many stripers around anymore, but you never know what you are gunna get. Setting up a spot and chunking bunker is a great idea. You can throw some lures while the bait sits too. I hope you enjoy your time out on the surf and good luck.

What's that teaser rig? I dig that low profile setup.
@thelinecook3 жыл бұрын
The teaser is called a thundermist teaser- t. I found them at a local tackle shop and have been using them ever since.
@wrongturn86263 жыл бұрын
@@thelinecook I can see why man ... I use dropper loops and get snagged on the teaser way more than I'd like. Those seem sweet.
@thelinecook3 жыл бұрын
@@wrongturn8626 Exactly, I love them. They almost never get tangled up like a dropper loop does. And if you do happen to get snagged usually your leader with the buck tail will break off and you don’t lose your whole rig. 👍
