Awesome you came to Iowa! It's because of you I was able to attempt my goal of 500 bass this year. I saw you do it, and wondered if it could be done here in Iowa. I know a pond you should see about fishing I've fished it many of times its a 5 or 6 acer pond, and there is 10 and 14 pound bass in it but I would wait until there spawning its outstanding fishing.

Thought for a future 100 Ponds - there's a pond near me that's got clearings on one side and *heavy* brush over and in the water and on the bank on the other. Tough to get a cast off unimpeded. The cleared side is so pressured you can't get a bite. There are definitely fish on the brush side. I had three bites from there this weekend, all on casts where I got hung up and couldn't set the hook. That's how close the fish stay to the brush. Would be great to someone of your skill level break down that scenario, how you choose the type of cast, balance the risk/reward, etc.

I used a spro topwater popping frogs yesterday and got 4 or 5 bites, and I missed all of them. They all had it in their mouth. I've seen how you always throw a popping pad perch. What is the best color I should get? I fishing a weedy pond with a bunch of laydowns in middle Geogia.

Thanks Tyler...it was refreshing to hear you acknowledge that not all fishing spots (ponds & reservoirs etc) are stocked with monsters waiting to bite. I'm up in here southern Ontario and can say without hesitation, catching fish is a regular grind that frustrates the heck out me. I liked your comment though where you mention (11:50) learning more leads to higher confidence. I guess I have a lot more to learn becaue it seems every body of water I fish doesn't have any fish there.

Thanks, for taking the time fishing public ponds and giving, showing valuable tips. I'm in Northeast Ohio, many small lakes, large ponds are stunted. I'm my opinion the main reason is a lot of people can care less about catch & release especially during spring.
