Last Year's Adventure: • The White River || "Pt...
The White River is known as one of the best brown trout fisheries in the world. In fact Cotter, Arkansas is known as the "Trout Capital of the USA" as thousands of people a year flock to the various rivers in the area in search of a trophy sized brown trout. The world record brown trout has even been broken twice in Arkansas, although the record is currently held in New Zealand.
In Part 1 of "TROUT CAPITAL OF THE USA" my brother and I chase after world class brown trout with huge streamers. Our first day on the river gave us a sneak peak of what the river is capable of with a brown trout jumping out of the water after my streamer. The second day gave us 3 sizable browns to the boat and gave us high hopes for the rest of the week.

I laid a rod down one time at the edge of the water with bait on it and fished with a different rod with an artificial lure and was catching. Then all of a sudden the rod I had laid down jumped off in the water bobbed twice and then plunged straight down into the depth. I threw keys n wallet on the bank and dove down with a friend and we watched a huge bass disappear into a stone cave big as a house. We looked at each other shook our heads and went back up top cause we were already about 30 ft down. I learned a lesson that day. You don't have to cast to catch a fish or for a fish to bite. A year later my friend was fishing there again with some friends from a boat and one of them snagged my rod, reeled it in and they brought it to me at my house. It still worked. I still caught fish with it till I finally just wore it out and had to retire it. Awesome video and always tight lines.

Beautiful brown's can't wait for next chapter. Quick question is it legal to spin fish the river,I mostly fly fish but really want to try and throw big jerk baits for big trout and I dream of doing it on that river. He’s correct it’s a stripping guard. Pretty much necessary for long days of streamer fishing lol in fact my hands still ended up bleeding on day 4. I’m not affiliated with Gastons or any guides I’m just a fisherman. For the time of year that you were there, you were fishing in all the wrong spots. Next time consider using a guide from Gastons the place that you stayed that you failed to mention or reference. Guides like Matt Berg will put you on the big Browns and you’ll have a much more successful trip. Plus people won’t have to sit here and listen to you complain about how cold you are. The water temperature on that river is consistent year round. The weather on top the water was beautiful although maybe a bit cold. If you are a social media Fair weather fisherman maybe you should concentrate on warmer weather fishing.
@hardmanfishing
@hardmanfishing 2 жыл бұрын
Clearly you’re new to the channel since I literally just released a video fishing in weather most fisherman wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole 😂😂 but I don’t care who you are if it’s so cold your fly freezes mid cast it’s comically miserable. I’d also like to throw in there that some of the best guides on the river STRUGGLED the week we were there. Nobody was catching anything, not even the bait guys were until the last day (when we caught a 24 as well). So maybe you should watch a few videos before you make such a bold comment. I hope you have an awesome year and catch some awesome fish. Tight lines.
