Join Rough Edges as we explore the West Coast of Fraser Island by boat. I give away a few starter marks for anyone intending to give fishing a crack. Weather turns south so we head back to the east coast to take cover and get hit with not 1 but 2 MASSIVE storms flooding our camp.
If you enjoy our content don’t forget to like a subscribe to stay up to date with all of our adventures!

Hi Guys great videos again Awesome to see the Family involved Memories for a life time. I love the west side been there when it’s bad and tidal surge At I Winya Creek they lost 4x 4WDs & 2 boats as the whole beach was two foot under water. 10 inches of rain in one night and lost 6 metes in depth of sand off the front beach exposing all the coffee rock. The ocean waves were coming into Eurong resort road off the beach to the start of the Bakery was wild. Thanks again for sharing your travels there great thanks so much Cheers

Thanks mate. Not substituting when it suits you an your family’s needs, as long as you still get out and have a crack that’s all that matters.

Interested to see the a close up of box you store your canopy legs in!
@roughedgesadventures
@roughedgesadventures 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching mate much appreciated! That’s right, can only play the cards your dealt. The box the canopy legs live in is literally just a space case (heavy duty plastic cargo box) with a hole cut in the top for the main brace arms to pole through.

Hi mate awesome video will definitely be watching more. I’ve got a very similar size cc boat and putting a canopy setup on my Ute soon but after watching your vid taking canopy off and putting the boat in was awesome cause you didn’t have to pack up camp to do it which I think was the best. All the best with you future travels

Thanks mate much appreciated! The lift off canopies are so handy mate! Lift off your camp to head out and explore without all the weight! I do find it a pain at times when I no longer have any tools / fridge etc.. so I am currently changing my setup to be a smaller lift off at the rear and full time mini canopy at the front.

Good trip with the family....Try a bean bag up front for the kids and maybe even a custom tarp or shad cloth studded up the front of the bow. It can be a bit hard in a CC to accommodate everyone. Just at the 11.35 mark atm
@roughedgesadventures
@roughedgesadventures 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! We have big moon chairs up the front for the kids but they never sit still long enough to bother getting them out haha! We have a small tarp for the front but again it’s easier for them to just come sit on the chair at the helm.

Awesome video mate. Any mods done to the drive train, the Ranger seems to pull hard with all the weight on.
@roughedgesadventures
@roughedgesadventures 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! No transmission mods, just a tune on the Ute, a lot of the softer inland towing was done in low range with a high gear selection.

Hey mate how do you manage to decide where you're going to stay so impulsively!! I thought you had to book online in advance? Id love to try just seeing where the day takes me and camping where I am closer towards at the end of the day.
@roughedgesadventures
@roughedgesadventures 2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, you will need service and it’s just pot luck if there is available camping left for that zone when you book. Hence why we didn’t stay in one of the zones as it was booked out but the other 2 had spots available just weren’t as nice.

What kind of tent are you running and how many brackets are on the top of your canopy to hold the tent
@roughedgesadventures

Hey mate, roof top is a Drifta family. I have 4 main bolt down points with large flat plate washers and then the whole sub floor is riveted down. I have 3 cross braces which all have 4 supports running length ways between them and mesh on top of that which acts as the “floor” as the roof top doesn’t have a built in sub base.
