Food for thought- My dad caught his 12 pounder at 1:00 in the afternoon on steamy July day with a Zebco closed face reel on 8 pound Ande line.

My FAV thing to do (with my bra and panties on) is Bass fish (hubby and I bass fish A LOT) just took delivery of my new Blazer 650 Pro Tour/Merc 300 ProXS will be finished with break in next time on the water still 1 hour left! Can't wait to open it up. We can't wait for cooler weather and fishing big wild shiners in Rodman. We love frog fishing and flipping and punching heavy grass mats but shiner fishing big wild golden shiners hits a soft spot and i love it. We use a 6\0 khale hook that we sharpen each one as some are ok and some are not out the package so we just buy a 50 pack and sharpen the whole box that way we know when we grab one it's sticky. My fav shiner rig is my Steez 7'1 frog stick and my Megabass Monoblock racing condition on 65lb Daiwa braid... Caught 7 fish over 10lbs last year in nov and Dec in rodman on big wild shiners. One was a red tagged 500 dollar fish and she was a 11lb 4oz. Caught her back in Orange Springs on the stump flat... Our best 5 that day (all shiner fish but just saying) went 41.7lbs... I love Rodman and big golden shiners. The excitement when we put the boat in with shiners in the live well early in the morning literally makes me get chill bumps thinking about it. Hell even catching the huge bowfin is a blast but gets old when your paying big bucks for big Wildies and catching them one after another but the fight is super fun and the massively aggressive strikes are amazing to watch.

The few days surrounding the next full moon just can't get here soon enough CC........I'm chompin' at the bit & hoping for some stable weather to go with it!!! Hey, they're finally building us some boat ramps at the new Fellsmere lake next to the Stick Marsh. I think they'll be ready to go next month, woo hoo!!!
@TheNorthFloridaAngler4 жыл бұрын
Yeah! I think your going to tear em up Steve when they open those boat ramps! I've heard good reports on that lake from the Kayakers!
@howabouthetruth21574 жыл бұрын
@@TheNorthFloridaAngler Yep!!! A good friend of mine has a buddy who went earlier this week, fishing from a kayak. He fished all day & said he quit counting after 100 bass, and many were between 3 and 4 lbs, with a couple over 6. Keep in mind, that's using artificial baits only. That's quality and quantity for fishing artificials. I'll be using large wild shiners & tossing lures between the shiner bite, unless the shiners are producing too quickly. That's a good "complaint" to have right there, lol.........

LOL.......that reminds me of several times over the years when I would take a guest from up north with me, to go trophy bass fishing here in central Florida........using giant wild shiners of course. When those guys first laid eyes on the baits, they would grab their cell ph to call friends or family up north.........and every one of em said: "You should see the bait they use down here, they're bigger than the fish we catch to eat!!!"......and some of em would look at me & say: "Just how big are these bass we're going to catch with this bait?!?!?"........Their reactions never got old....LOL.

Lol! I hear ya man! One time I had a guide party out and one of my clients was reeling in his shiner to make another cast! Right about that time I heard a women in another boat tell the man she was with " Look honey they just caught another one" Wow there tearing them up over there! Lol!
