Do local residents also have to pay the same rate to fish as a visitor to the area would have to pay?

Its all exactly the same cost for day tickets or season memberships on the various clubs.

Also you can see the angler has a line connecting his net to him anyway, drop the net and hold the fish correctly.

We must be honest with other anglers, when the angler picked the trout out of the net for the camera he held it with one hand and you can see his fingers digging into its flank, I even see people grip the gut for a phot. Can fly fisherman stop doing this? Two hands or don’t bother, and gently cradle the fish at water height not three feet out of the water. People often grip a fish hard with one hand while photographing it with the other. All this needs to stop please. If you cannot do it properly stop fishing please. I see this a lot, salmon anglers are worse, they rest the fishes weight on a hand where the heart is, and you see the body distend.

We don't promote bad handling on our videos or indeed images via any of our social media. Andy didn't grip the fish - it was supported gently in his hand. Flanks and belly of the fish were soft (one well fed trout) so bulged against his fingers. And it was held carefully above the water. It was a fairly small trout, so no need for two hands in this case.

@@FishingInWales I disagree if you tell me your email I will send a photo of a couple of fish I have photographed and you will learn how to do it correctly, you may be cross about my comments but it’s the fish that matter.

@@davidgray3321 nobody is cross? Some very valid points fishcare is important. And we do know how to take photos of fish with fishcare in mind: fishingwales.net/look-after-your-catch-10-considerations-for-successful-fish-care/ However when you are there in person you can see if a fish is mishandled or not. It wasn't.
