Is the maggot fishing allowed on river Taff? I live in Merthyr Tydfil and I am pretty sure someone said to me it isn't...

It's only allowed on Glamorgan AA club water in Cardiff because this part of the river has good stocks of coarse fish. Maggots are not permitted on Merthyr AA or the other clubs, because its trout fishing. further up the river.

Been trying to catch a greyling for over a year now in my town im from aberfan i dont even know if they come up my river i mostly catch trout and eals

There are no grayling in that part of the Taff. They are only in the river from Abercynon down to Cardiff.

No its catch and release - or we would have no fish left. And why would you want to eat fish in the Taff? Not exactly clean, the fish don't taste great!
