Those blue devils live for over 60 years and can mate for life. Always best to put them back where they came from :)

Yes we googled it the night we caught the blue devil. We definitely released it in healthy condition as a fish that beautiful needs to live.

That blue fish you had there was a blue devil There amazing eating with soft meat and very little bones

that was a juvenile blue groper, he was at the age where he was starting to turn blue, the juveniles are all olive green and along that coast there are absolutely heaps of them there, for some reason you dont catch many of then fishing as i think their diet might be more weed based but if you ever go diving there the water is full of the small olive green ones

@@strayfromreality its not a groper, its a female brown spotted wrasse (Notolabrus parilus) they are related as groper are wrasse but the mouth is all wrong and the coloration is all wrong for it to be a groper, the light brown chin and the dots all over the fish are also strong identification features for a female brown spotted wrasse
