I've been using this braid in the size PE1.2 for almost six months on my Daiwa Legalis '23 4000cxh and so far there's nothing to complain about. I believe Varivas makes some of the smoothest braids on the market, while also retaining very good strength.

What type of water, fish targeted, amount of usage and years of experience do you have?

@@Professionull1 I only fish in saltwater, target species are mainly barracuda, blue runner, false albacore, Atlantic bonito and needlefish. I use it approx 1-2 times/week

Best braid for the money in my opinion. Super good quality from a reputable brand and is their entry level braid… Use it in PE0.8 and PE1.5 and landed me some serious fish even when I was ungergunned. Love it

Actually this isn't their entry level braid according to Varivas. There was a discussion on one of my other video where Varivas stated: "The marketing words 'Standard' and 'Premium' are a bit misleading. By 'Standard' VARIVAS means they are setting a new standard of premium line. The English word 'standard' is a bit awkward here, cuz it can be miscontrued as average or basic. But what VARIVAS is trying to say is that they have raised the bar and elevated their standard, base model line."

@@thelinelaboratory Could be, as far as I knew this was a new version of their older VARIVAS High Grade X8 (but i know there is a Type ii but not sure what’s the difference)… Still, this braid for the price, is still within the budgets of many and even for those just starting out, making it maybe a bit more ‘entry’ level in that sense? :))

Been using this for casting for kingfish off rocks. I got the pe 4 feels great for entry level varivas. Cast well feel slightly rougher than casting or smp . But for price, is worth buying.

I bought 0.8 yesterday just based on your videos and replies, keep it up! Quick question tho, out of the braid you tested and had JDM specs espically the diameter same as the varivas, what would you reccomend for SW ultralight? like 8Lb or something in that range, better if it can be found JDM too

There are a few lines we have tested that have actual breaking strain around 8lbs, Kingdom MicroFly PE0.2, Varivas Avani Saltwater Finesse x8 PE 0.3 and Varivas Avani SLJ x8 PE 0.4. You can see the specs here linelaboratory.com/braid-summary/

If you please, I wish to see 2 braid lines to be tested,Varivas avani X9 jigging pe3 and Duel Hardcore super X8 pe3, water repellent. Best of luck with my regards.

We have tested the "Max Power x8" and "Avani Casting Shore Master - Max Power x8" but the Varivas 8 appears superior

How has the 1.2 treated you? My buddy bought some and it would randomly break in the middle of the line. Seems like there were weak points. I have a spool ready to go but I’m kind of scared to use it after seeing his experience.

@@gabrielvasquez-chan7504 Honestly haven't had the chance to give it the proper test with a good piece but judging by the ocassions i have been stuck i have confidence in the strenght labeled. Let me explain i pair it with a 30 pound leader and a FG knot, while breaking it most of the times the break comes by the leader and not the mainline, so pretty confidence on the line strenght, and very thin.

Thanks, andother great report. I like how the manufacturer is quoting numbers ~ +/- 10%. I have some Varivas PE5 and it is awesome (can't remember which series, seomthing Casting somthing?)

Yep, Varivas seem to be extremely realistic about diameters and breaking strain which is great to see.
