If you like sushi or cured fish, you can make Shime Saba. It's a vinegar+salt+seaweed brine that helps it firm up really nicely. Makes for a beautiful presentation too.

King steaks is good stuff on the grill. Lay foil down on grill, add butter and garlic. Heat almost like a brown butter and put King steaks on grill. Take off at around 140-145 and let them rest 5 min or so under a foil tent. Chow down!!

Well worth the trip. The first run was a doozy ... . That Kingfish could turn into "Catch and Cook, and Cook, and Cook" ... maybe smoked ... can they be steaked and grilled?
@EliasVFishing4 жыл бұрын
Me personally, smoked only way. I’ve tried grilled & fried - didn’t like it. Just wished it was spanish mack instead.
@christianrobeson18994 жыл бұрын
EliasVFishing think it would be good candidate for smoking and turning it into a fish dip?
@N2theBlue14 жыл бұрын
They aren't bad steaked and grilled with a bunch of either old bay or Cajun seasoning, but turning them into smoked fish dip is the best way to eat them

Looked like around a 25 pound fish. Hit the pier sometime. Get into king fishing whichever you're closest to. I don't get down to the beach often maybe twice a year. My third king was 34 pounds. I've seen some 40s before. I've seen days where kings are skying all over. Never know out there.

A short gaff definitely would of been handy but you got er done without. I think a big cobia would worry me a lot more than a big king in a kayak. Ive seen what big cobia do when they are gaffed or netted and then brought in the boat I can only imagine in a kayak especially considering you don't have a cooler to throw them in and sit on. Lol
