Fishing OFF and ON the Galveston 61st pier (Galveston Texas)

From fishing the seawall to going on the Galveston 61st fishing pier. Started off slow on the small jetty of the seawall with live shrimp and changing location hoping the bite would change. We ended the day at the pier casting out some big chunks of lady fish for some big bullreds. I hope yall enjoy this video because I have better content coming! Thank you.

my personal opinion is that it’s too crowded and there’s just. sooooooo many. other. spots. to go to! Of course let me be clear and forthright: I have zero issues with anyone fishing wherever they want to. Great! But me? Nope nope nope I avoid the Galveston piers like the plague! So many other great spots, and jetties, and wading spots to try out and go to and there’s plenty of fish. And I totally understand if maybe I am wrong or exaggerating. Just… the times I’ve been it was too crowded and it left a “bad taste” in my mouth. I like to spread out and cast with no worries of others!😅

I feel you on that because I hate crowds also but we had the girls with us and that seemed more safer for them and that places has lights at night and drinks! If it was me I’d be going to diffrent places to find other spots. 😂👍🏽

What type of rod were you running

To catch the red I was using a Avet and 9ft ftu rod but to catch bait a 7ft falcon rod with a stradic 3k

If you are planning on casting and leaving it out for Bullreds I’d pick up a 5 or 6k reel that holds over 250yrs of braided line and get a 8/9ft rod. But for trout and slot reds a 6/7ft rod with a 2/4K reel.
