As much as you are on the river and I know you have little cheats with good gear and stuff but it’s crazy how well you feed yourself and basically survive out there. I have went out for one or two nights on the kayak and when I get home I feel like I got my butt whooped. Not saying you don’t test yourself already but you should really try naked and afraid or some wilderness challenge. I think you would do great Spencer. Anywho. 200k coming soon 💪🏼

Been there, done that. Pulled a canoe out of lock/dam #19, repaired it except the rear seat, just sat on the flat spot at the stern. Hit an under water log near Athens and because of not much seating area to adjust the weight it capsized. Everything floated but the poles and they were tied on. Cold morning and overcast all day, never warmed up before hitting the Mississippi and our cabin. Remember that S.E. river you fished last winter? I moved 25 miles off the coast and now that river is a cleared bank 20 yards behind my place, my backyard, private fishing. Also a multi ramp and 130' of dock a long block from my place. Been told there ain't no flathead around here, already caught a small one, good eating. No I didn't get tired of the salt life, just now I've both to fish, while spending half as much time working the salt job.

Nice fishin man. You should get a bivy cover in case of rain, because that would suck. Or just canvas to wrap.
@benkrause3321 Жыл бұрын
Ok Spencer, what's up with the clips attached to the rod where the hook keeper is at? Only thing I can think of using it for it clipping line to it when clicker won't hold bigger baits or stronger currents. So what are you using them for? I'm guessing it's a line clip correct? For like trolling boards? Also, my biggest came on a full moon night, but yes usually slower for me also. And it's usually a early bite or as soon as the moon drops below the trees whatever time that is.

Dude that first flathead was the perfect eater. Ida cooked em up and saved the rest in that tortilla bag for breakfast 🤠. I see you did cook one up whole. Datswhatsup. I bet that one that came off was the one you was after. I never tail hook bullhead for that reason. We hook em thru the upper lip always. Drum is good fresh. Glad you didn't loose anything while dunking. Good reminder bout a life jacket. Great vid as always and keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎🙏

This is like most of my trips out! Lol I'm planning a river trip in the next few weeks. This time of year would you rather target flathead on the flats directly beside deep drops with lots of structure, or focus more inside the junk at night? I've got a sweet island spot that drops off pretty wicked, and it's completely surrounded by downed trees. Right beside it is a flat... ill probably throw a bait everywhere anyway 🤣
