I have been bike riding there since covid. Personal best is 4 laps around the lake. Want to try my hand at fishing, too. Love this place. New sub.

yes, in 1989, I think. I broke the 2.5 with a 3.25 and the record before me stayed for 12 years but my record only lasted 2 months. it was beat by a 3.5 then a 3.75 then this new one. BUT, I DID HOLD A RECORD, for a short time

I've fished Lake Perris before and never caught a dang thing. But I did go out there rock climbing on Split Rock a few times. That was fun. Great view from up there.

I was 21 and living in reche canyon back when they made lake Perris. I used to fish off the dam I rode my bike down the dam several times back when I was dating a bass fishing guy. Lots of memories.

When I was 18 and my girlfriend at the time was still a senior in high school, her parents let her go camping with my family and we spent 4 days fishing, hiking, swimming and around the campfire. What I didn't know at the time, was that was going to be THE LAST TIME, my family camped together or even fished together as a family. That would have been 1987. So long ago in many ways but just yesterday in other ways. I split up with that girl when she was 20, she'd be 55 now and still lives in the same city as me, though I have not seen her but 1 time a year after we split up. Very strange how we are so close, and our lives never overlapped again! I taught her to fish and when se split up, gave her a Saber ultra lite rod and sigma 035 reel. She had waist length jet black hair and to watch her fish was really something. I heard she never married nor had kids. I ran into her older sister about 20 years back. She gave me the run down on what her sister had been up to and such. Then in 07, I was in a pizza place playing pool and a waitress says hello alan. I looked at her and she says, you were with me when I got this scar. She had a scar on her left cheek. Instantly I remembered Monique, my girlfriend's niece. She won a beta fish at the corn festival when she was 3 or 4 and they had it in a plastic aquarium. She climbed the dresser to see it, pulled it down and it broke, her landing on it, cutting her face. It was her, now 21 years old and a woman. Time, where does it go?

@@PHARRAOH I know You have to savour every day and live it to the fullest. I just found out a guy I dated from back in 1974 passed away on Feb 8th he was the local sherif of wrightwood back in the day his name was Joel. Even though when we broke up it wasn't exactly pleasant he still considered me a friend and tried to get me to go have coffee but i never did and on my 50th bithday he came to the wrightwood Inn and brought a box of pictures he had of me back in the day and also wrote a five page apology letter . I was a little overwhelmed but I don't think he ever thought I had forgiven him because I never actually said it even though i had a long time ago. I regret not telling him that especially now that he's passed . I guess it was just because it felt awkward but time goes by way too quickly that's for sure.

As part of the Dive Team I got deployed to Lake Perris about 25 years ago. We were looking for the body of a guy who had got drunk and fell overboard. It was summertime so it was hotter then hell, but we had to wear wetsuits. Talk about overheating. The bottom finder on the boat said the depth was 75ft. It turned out that is where the muck started. The muck started off as just cloudy water but continued to get thicker as we descended. When we reached our max depth of 100 feat, we still had not reached hard bottom, but the muck had thickened to the point where you felt like you were swimming in molasses.

A dude on the boulder dam told me the lake weeds reached 50' in some areas and to go down and clean the drain screens, they send other divers with 12 gauge bump sticks to watch the divers do not get held down beyond their air supply with catfish over 4' long. I don't know if he was exaggerating or not

Very cool video , l too had a slingshot, my next door neighbor Philip Agassi, Andre Agassi brother said you can't hit that box on the power poll, I hit it, then said you can't hit the light, I hit it, then said you can't hit that bird. I said I didn't want to, and he kept saying because you can't, finally I tried and hit him first try, he fell in my yard bleeding from the neck. He died that night. I think that's why I never became a hunter, traumatic experience when I was about 8 or 9 Please stay safe my friend 🙏
