At last matey... please make more of these kinds of videos. I just watched this all the way through and for once the whole video is about the subject and not about the gear... nice one H, really enjoyed it..

Love it mate!! I’m taking GCSE photography and in the last few months have started putting together some decent photos of brown trout I’ve caught back in the summer. Something I’m really going to try and get into this year with bass and wrasse. Keep up the amazing work 💯🎣🎣

im in love with ur works, pls advise what range of focal point is the best for fishing photograph…
@henrygilbey302 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! It's an impossible question though, there are so many different variables which go into focal length decisions and so on...........

That padpack pro is interesting. What level of protection does it offer ? I’m lugging my kit around in a small hard case, taking a tumble on a reef is bad enough without smashing up expensive camera gear.
@henrygilbey3022 жыл бұрын
my gear gets used hard but I try my best to look after it, that padpack thing works fine for me if that helps

Hi Henry, been having trouble with the sgs5 9ft 35g rod. I've used two different reels with two different braids and I've gotten wind knots both times. I have used these two reels for months with different rods with no problems. I've noticed the tip guides are rather small, should I leave my fg knot outside the guides?
@kevinbuckler10853 жыл бұрын
If it's any help I've got one of these and it's absolutely brilliant. Usually wind knots are caused by overloading with the braid,I use 20lb Fireline and loaded it very close to the lip,only had 1 wind knot !
@seanmontovio21603 жыл бұрын
@@kevinbuckler1085 Thanks Kevin, I've had the stradic and the caldia for over 6 months now and yet to have any wind knots, maybe just a coincidence that in the first 10 casts with both of these reels with the new rod I managed to get wind knots
@henrygilbey3023 жыл бұрын
I do wonder whether your FG knot is catching in the rod guides. I don't get any wind knot issues with any of the rods, but my FG knot is always outside of my tip guide when I cast. In theory the FG knot works just fine with rod guides, but in practice it's going to catch occasionally.........

Good to hear, I so love these SGS5 rods, got some really interesting new samples I am currently playing with
@kevinbuckler10853 жыл бұрын
@@seanmontovio2160 It could be the braid was loaded too loose, I’ve found you need to have a few casts first to bed it down tighter 🤞

Your images are worthy of any angling mag cover, they just scream fishing. Your surf shots were seen by a lady friend who declared how exciting it looked, and she would like to try it, and I'm guessing that's a fairly common reaction to your work. Somehow my phone shots of a tired sea on a grey, wet, Welsh day just don't cut it:)
@henrygilbey3022 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, thank you so much!!!! Makes my day to hear that a particular shot has elicited such a response!!!

We got it your passion and voice over ..... Unfortunately these days people will engage with the story in a reels and music to it may be with subtitles but the sexy fishing story line your trying to portray will be best suited with video clips and music put together.... will have a bigger impact but the text will tell the story.... just a suggestion and then there will be an uptake in Bass fishing even saltwater fly fishing a new niche. You have all the tools photos, video clips now just put them together with music and sub title story chat and it will go viral with the new younger generation, result achieved telling people new to fishing the experience of being one with nature is a great privilege ....

Not sure I'm the person to be trying to cut "funky" music based fishing videos! For sure there is room for it, but perhaps I am better off leaving that sort of thing to the younger crowd?
