Been meaning to pop down the Hoe for a while now, never really had much luck down there but in good conditions it's a lovely place to spend a few hours fishing with a mate. Nice to see you out having a laugh with the guys 👍

Just goes to show what is right in front of you sometimes. When i lived in Gibraltar i used to fish the heavy surf at the base of Europa Point lighthouse catching huge groupers just a few yards from me, bait was always pieces of fresh octopus tentacles. Wrasse are pretty little fish indeed, at least it wasn’t a blank. Have you had any problems with the May rot algae crap recently? Yesterday night I was around sandgate area and my reel and rod got absolutely coated that session

No I haven't had much at all on any fishing session. A tiny tiny bit at dover last week but that's all I've experienced this year so far. I hope that Continues 🤞😆

We was also there on the 1st… 2 guys fished where you was on the mornings tide and they had 2 black bream nice ones around 1.5lb/2lb! and lots of wrass… we had wrass mackerel strap conger and doggy’s

A tip for you always carry a couple of spare tip rings and hot melt glue stick with you so you can replace any broken tip rings , just gently heat the broken ring with lighter and twist it off, melt a little hot melt glue onto the tip push the new ring into place job done

The problem I have is that I use different rods for different sessions that all have different tip diameters. Also it's a lot of hassle because I'd have to strip all the whipping off too. I don't mind being a rod down for one session. When I get some time I'll get the rod in my rod Turner and do a proper job rewhipping a new one on👍

Love float fishing with live prawn at samphire, although catching prawns in this wind is a challenge.

What method do you use to catch your prawns James?

@@gsp small deep net about the size of a tennis racket, around partially submerged rocks with weed attached. Transporting them is another challenge! Battery air pump and air stone are a must , with as much sea water as you can carry! Look out for jumpers when you open the lid! 🤣

Don't know what's going on with Dogfish but they are everywhere. Fished Deal last couple of Sunday ago with my father in law and hooked 24 dogs and 1 pouting in 4 hours.
